I am afraid that I have to be the bearer of unspeakable news.

An hour ago a series of explosions shook Matriculation Centre 4. We have managed to get power back on in the centre just in the past 10 minutes and rescue personnel have been pouring into the centre searching for survivors. Early reports from the crews who are going through the wreckage have just begun coming in, but the news is not good so far. It seems that we have little to no casualties….. In fact very few people are being found at all. Those who are being recovered have apparently been executed, while the vast majority of people seem to have simply disappeared in the chaos.

Until the centre can be made safe, I am afraid that I must close Centre 4 from any new arrivals. Search and rescue crews are continuing to work, and I am being asked to proceed to the medical centre for treatment of my own injuries. I will submit an update once we have a clearer understanding of what exactly has happened.

The desire to go and find Boma, Koronakesh, and the other seekers, and just hunt them down and murder them in a way that not even cloning will fix, is steadily rising.

I don't really see how this has anything to do with us. Care to clarify?

That I understand, but apparently the heathen seems to be judge and jury with verdict and sentence in hand. Perhaps it should spend some time focusing on puberty, before it decides who has done what and where.

Stereotypically this is where I jump in and express anger and frustration that those I love are being mocked and referred to as "it". While I do in fact hold such anger, I have even greater anger still on something else.

Why the hell aren't the empires taking note of this? I understand that CONCORD-sanctioned corporate war has been declared, sure. But the matriculation centers have helped care for thousands upon thousands of returnees to the Republic. So I suppose what I'm really asking is: why isn't anything being done? Seriously. It is NOT hard for a major empire to send a squad of ships over to assist the good folks at the matriculation centers.

Because people are being helped? If not for principles, then at least on the basis of quid pro quo.

After receiving treatment at the medical centre for burns I suffered during the aftermath of the incident, I was sedated….apparently my vitals were a mess and the doctors were concerned for my wellbeing. Thankfully the personnel of the Republic Security Service station have been busy piecing together what little information we have and I can know offer additional information to you.

Here is what we know:

Several hours after the majority of the residents of Centre #4 had gone to sleep, at 0300h (station time), power was cut to the matriculation centre, which takes up an sizeable area of the station just opposite the docking pylons spanning deck 14 through 22. This included the 3 residential complexes as well as our communications and administration centre. Within 1 minute of the power being cut, several explosions destroyed our communications and the small Republic Security detachment assigned with policing the matriculation centre by station authorities. The explosions also served to breach the hull that separates the docking bay and navigational corridor from the centre.

With the holes punched in the hull, a half dozen dropships passed from the docking area directly into the common grounds of our centre, set down and quickly unloaded several hundred unknown aggressors. Based on what has been found, it would seem that these raiders seized any former slaves they felt could be of service. As I mentioned initially the few bodies recovered had apparently been executed…..well they all seem to be people who were too sick, too old, or who offered resistance. Many were shot where they slept.

While the numbers are still being finalised, it appears that roughly 16,534 people were taken, and I can only assume have been returned to slavery. 372 people have been confirmed dead, the majority (over 350 of them) by execution. 32 people are still missing and rescue operations are ongoing.

I wish to thank all those who have expressed their grief and those who have made offers of support, I assure you that we will speak with each of you once things have settled down. We do not want anyone to take it upon themselves to seek retribution on the perpatrators of this act of terror.

What makes you think they do not take note of this ? Also, what makes you think this is part of a CONCORD-sanctionned war as nobody even seems to know who were the attackers ?

Their impotence has long-since been noted and dismissed. I rather doubt the possibility there's been a change in the interceding months.


On the subject of this thread though, no, this was not an operation of mine personally, nor one I was aware was being conducted. Ta Pang's own numbers would indicate thus with such a low execution percentage of the total center population.
