I've been chewing on this topic for a little while now. It's annoying to grind sec status for possibly days at a time just because you have the urge to duke it out in low sec. It is a PvP region, and people who want to shoot each other should be free to do so without being cut off from High sec. It should change. A lot of people think it should change, but how?

I think if a player has damage dealing modules onlined, or damage dealing drones out in space, anyone should be free to shoot them without taking a sec hit. If a ship has no damage dealing modules online, much less fit, sec hits apply as usual.

GCC and gate guns should behave as normal since it creates tactical decisions when fighting on a gate or station.

Basically, if your guns are hot, you will be shot.

I don't know how difficult this would be to implement but I can't imagine it being all that hard.

Speaking as someone who is hovering around -5.0...

And low-sec isn't a "PvP zone" per se. It's just a place where the "aggro laws" are less strict which allows for more wanton PvP.

Well how about just some time then? Five hours for each act. Go after 3 people, you get to be red blinky in high sec for 15 hours. One of the reasons I hardly bother with low sec, I am in no hurry to be stuck there for days on end shooting at rats.

Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.  - William Pitt

It's an idea aimed at encouraging more day trippers, thus getting you more targets. A big barrier for entry to low sec PvP is being cut off from high sec.

I think the sec status penalty should be tied to the security level of the system the aggression takes place in... such that .4 would be less than .5, .3 less than .4 and so on until you get the 0.0 where it is zero.
