Gonna take a quick pause on my alt training to give him some hacking skills, and ive got a few questions I haven't been able to find answers for.

1) Is there a benefit to equipping more than 1 codebreaker?

2) I heard that sleepers wont spawn in a RADAR/Magnometric site for the first 20 minutes that Im there, is this true?

1) yes because you may be able to access cans faster this way (just like equipping more than one salvager). But there might be more useful modules to fit instead of a second codebreaker. Personally, I don't think the tradeoff is worth it because of the ships I fly for exploration.

2) W-space and k-space radar and mag sites are VERY different. In k-space, radars and mags are easier than combat sites (you can find radars and mags that don't have NPCs at all, and the "difficult" ones are really not that difficult compared to, say, the most difficult combat plex or anom that can spawn in that security class). In w-space, mags and radars are more difficult than combat sites (and the only "combat" sites are anoms, there are no combat "unknown" signatures in w-space). Sleepers are there from the start, and more can spawn when you try to hack cans in certain sites. Don't do those in a ship that's fit mainly for probing and hacking/analyzing (like a Helios or whatever). There are some sites (or there used to be... honestly haven't tried it in a while, not since the Sleeper ewar fix) where it's possible to hack the cans in a fast frigate if you have a buddy, but that's not something you should try and expect to succeed without general w-space experience.

Sleepers take ~20 minutes to spawn in fresh grav and ladar sites in w-space.

Like Ajita says ^^^

Our w-space code-breaker is a dedicated hurricane with three T2 code-breaker modules and two dedicated rigs. It's rare for a can to remain uncracked into the second cycle.

Our empire ship for this is a cheetah with one of each module (or two of one kind if i get to dock) and one of each rig. It follows along when we're working radar / mag sites as well as the DEDS etc.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Also like Ajita says. Your buddy might have mistaken w-space gravitometric (ore) sites and ladar(gas) sites for mags & radars. Warping into the former, you won't see Sleepers for a while. But Mags & Radars are THE nastiest sites in any given class of wormhole, and you need to ideally clear all Sleepers before attempting to crack the crates.
Use Eve-Survival to examine the site's spawn make-up in advance. Once they are cleared, there will be no more spawns when you crack the crates - so you can use a dedicated codebreaking ship.

PS - I don't know what class of w-space you're referencing, but if it's C3 then the mag sites are way more worthwhile isk-wise.

Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

I've pretty much stopped running Radar sites in wormholes. It's a lot of effort to clear the rats and usually the loot is disappointing (which is relative, of course). I've made more money on the whole running radar sites in low-sec where you can clear the rats (if there even are any) in a couple of minutes and get on with the business of looting it.

@OP: one thing to consider for training is that higher levels of skill translate into faster hacking. In C4 and higher wormholes you'll either need level-4 hacking and rigs or level-5 hacking to be able to open all of the cans you'll encounter.
