so with all the threadnaut's going about how eve is being watered down. Jester hits the nail on the head when he says the difficulty and redundant things are cranked to 14. So it would be a smarter move for the company as a business to do so and for us players to build incredible space armies. With that said bring the noobs faster then we can kill em they'll get smart(for the love of spaceships batman i hope so) and climb the cliff a with at least the right tools. If you feel the flood gates should be open then discuss, strengthen, and push for it. We have our shiny toys now we need to share our shiny's. Subscription class 2012 this is your year. The counter culture has started change or stagnation up to us. Oh and for Christ sake find tallest a sandwich.

Please can you explain your similes, assumptions or analogies with a bit more clarity?

I'm struggling to get any more message other than you might want to educate more new players with the harsh process of natural selection that EvE offers? Though interesting you have a shiney to use against them to explain it rather than skill perhaps? Is this the watering down bit that's relevant? Seems potentially an odd euphemism for bullying newbs or could be interpreted as such.

What redundant things?

Who is the "counter culture"? And what do they represent?

Is this a pre-emptive representation of a view that Dust 514 might bring a flood of new players to the EvE culture and you want to ensure the right message is being delivered? Or that you want some advertising campaign to bring in more new players performed by CCP?

tl;dr: unclear what the OP means with their "colourfull" use of the English language with no real applied objectivity to help the reader understand relevant points about whats trying to be discussed, please explain.

The problem isn't with instant gratification or anything like that as the EVE player base is in a state of denial about, the problem is the fact that the things you do in order to attain goals in EVE are so repetitive and dull.

Let me give you a little scenario that happened to me recently, I found a class 1 wormhole, awesome! So now I have to scan down one entrance per day which isn't too bad because it means I can play the game casually, but then I found after setting up a PoS I had to go and stock turrets with ammunition, scan down even more signatures if I was going to profit at all the same goes for if I want to do mining now. I basically have to go "Hmm, do I really want to spend almost an hour looking at a jet can fill up or do I want to go and draw or play another game instead that actually congratulates me for playing it".

What this game needs is to acknowledge the efforts of players who actually log in to do stuff, the fact is, that despite what CCP alts. constantly rant about, the rewards in this game are pathetic for those who actually play instead of cheat and exploit.

"don't get us wrong, we don't want to screw new players, on the contrary. The core problem here is that tech 1 frigates and cruisers should be appealing enough to be viable platforms in both PvE and PvP."   - CCP Ytterbium

The only thing holding this game back from growing is the old players that are stuck in there old ways of keeping this game a grind. EVE has so much going for it if they just give the right Tools and UI to people from the get go.

The UI in EVE is a joke right now mainly because there is so much crap in the UI that dose not need to be there and also so much clicking when you could cut that kind of thing down a lot.

Some of the major grinds in eve like mining are rely painful and they need things to mix it up a little, were not talking about making things easier but more adding a new level of content to mining that would other wise spice things up in the game for people.

Change needs to happen in eve for it to grow anymore then it is, but the old players cant get over them self's and see change is some times good, and going forward in a game can bring them way more content for them in many ways.

Being an SWG player one thing I've always advocated is if there are really people who want things to stay the same then give them a seperate server to play on and leave it at that so they're happy. Then that way CCP still keeps their original player base and doesn't risk destroying their entire company if they want to change the gameplay mechanics in a huge way and they can make it fun for other people too.

Hell, they could even market this game as 'EVE classic' and its a great way of moving things forward without giving anyone the finger like so many other games companies have done. Even Valve were guilty of this when they decided to make Team Fortress 2 into a stupid game about collecting hats and overpowered weaponry.

I think it would be extremely interesting to see two different game mechanics compete with each other within the same universe because it's never been done properly before.

Problem is there just go to the new servers because they will get bored of the same old boring system and there start to warm up to the new system, most people will just move over anyway and leave that old server to die so making it cost ccp more then you can pay up for it. people just need to get over it and learn to take change, ccp is not making things easier just more cleaner.

That doesn't work with EVE. In this game the players themselves are the most important content. You can't start spreading them around over different servers. Also the servers necessary for EVE's unsharded world are rather insane. The idea of needing multiple of them just because a minority of players don't like some of the changes in the latest patch is even more insane.

Can't be smart in the first plays if it made no rational sense to begin with. Also renaming things isn't dumbing down really until you have "This is the best item ever." "This is the second best." But as eve's mechanics dont even work like that. It's silly to think torpedo launcher (Which shoots ******* torpedoes...) is dumb.
