I did happen to notice the 'trick' in your title, but.... for your amusement.

I pulled 165 on an american based IQ test, full of american stuff and tings.
I pulled a 142 on the British MENSA test.

Living proof ?

Particularly when a lot of IQ questions involve math and I suck at math, you give me a pen to draw with however or ask me about politics.

IQ high enough for Mensa. Wasn't smart enough to wear a condom.
Discuss.

^^ True that, an IQ test is a great way to see where you are good at though

I studied IQ tests at Uni. As an experinment my and a few others got around 100 volunteers to practice IQ tests for a week. First measure means was around 107. Slightly above the average of the population which is 100. Not unexpected considering most of these volunteers where university students.

After a week we called them back and did the tests again. The means average this time was around 120. We also did comparisons between students that studied the arts and those who did sciences and mathamatics. Those who studied physics and mathamatics came out well on top. Does this mean that those who study history or english are less inteligent? Not really. It just shows that the test are weighted towards a particular way of thinking

Under proper test conditions IQ tests can be a good indicator of a individuals "inteligence". However, like anything the more you practice the better you'll be at it and the more familiar you are with the type of problem solving IQ tests throw at you the better you'll do at them. Obviously there are a lot of environmental and lifestyle factors at play here and I don't think it's possible to get a true measure of an individuals inteligence.

There is even a debate to exactly what inteligence is or if inteligence is made up of different types of skills. For example you can have physical and emotional inteligence. Having a high IQ score may make you feel good about yourself particularly the silly ones that you find on the internet, but keep in mind you are not seeing the full picture and that there are factors that can skew the results in your favour. In the end IQ tests just show you how good you are at IQ tests

sorry about the poor grammar. I suck at English ;)
