Oh Cpt - you made me lol

To take your reference point, these forums are (not like) a conduit to the manufacturer of the product. We do not have direct access to those making the product - except via this conduit.

Now - lets take your example...

It's like me walking into a shop and talking to the shop assistant about a problem, and the rest of the customers in the shop overhear and decide to be informative - by giving advice and feedback that is neither asked for or useful. And some of these information givers are not nice people btw...
Most of the information they give is unrelated and out of context and because the medium is textual - they think they are answering the persons request, but alas, they have not read or possibly not understood the question so give erroneous feedback.

Needles to say and as demonstrated from this post thread - I will not tolerate those that do not understand as I have not been tolerated if I do not understand specifics on these forums. Sometimes it is right - some time not.

That's all - thanks for stopping by and sharing (me being nice) now **** off and disturb someone else ....

Buzz.. I HAVE 2 fuking installs of the client. I want ONE (1) UNO ...O N E Launcher instance to use either one. Its a just a fancy GODDAM shortcut ffs. Not that hard to modify...

...

Ignoring your incredibly rude tone, you hadn't actually said before (or even in the opening post!) that you actually have two installs.

That sole fact, might have you know, made us all think you're not a complete drooling mong when demanding (that's what you've done, demanded, not asked) that the new launcher gives you access to both via one install (which is what was implied).

For the stupid OP who seems to not know how to use a computron. Here is a good forum thread about how to set up Sisi.

Maybe get your mommy to help you read it.

What you do not seem to understand is that the more you look down on your fellow player, the further down on the monkey scale you go for those of us in possession of some actual intelligence and socially adjusted behaviour...

Keep it up. No, really. The world needs examples of misbehaviour. Its just too bad that I cannot find myself to believe in stuff like karma, and will have to settle for the frustration that people like you only very rarely get put in their place effectively :(

Ah well, I for one will make a point of noting you as someone not to interact with further, something tells me you are familiar with such a response to your presence :)

Buzz - you seem worthwhile answering so I will ignore the other twats that replied

Lets state the facts

You assumed

ASS -U -ME Makes an ass outta U and me.....

assumed I didnt have two installs and ASSUMED that I was new to doing this. You also did NOT read the op that stated I wanted the launcher to address two environments - and assumed that I did not have the environments set up, hence your "advice"

If you would have asked (and if I was in the mood to answer civilly) I might have told you this but you assumed.

As I said before ...

It's like me walking into a shop and talking to the shop assistant about a problem, and the rest of the customers (you are in there) in the shop overhear and decide to be informative - by giving advice and feedback that is neither asked for or useful. Spot on

I would think that variables would have to change should I select Sisi or TQ, and I was thinking that CCP would have done that with the latest build, but that in essence is what I was hoping they could produce.
Thanks for sharing that. Appreciate it

By reading all your gabble, I did notice the fact that you think the TQ and Sisi use the same client files.
I'm sorry to inform you that this is not the case and that you cannot use your TQ client to log into Sisi no matter how often you yell on the forums and demand it to happen.

You see sisi is a test server and the client build used there is in any way different from the live TQ client. You asking for the Launcher to give you an option to select to log into TQ or Sisi from the same folder is in no way possible.

If CCP decides to do something like that because of your weeping then you would still need two seperate Eve folders one for TQ and one for Sisi, but you could use the Launcher to select which one of the Clients you want to run.

Kind regards,
Nebula

Btw, this is just a quick mockup that I threw together in literally 30 seconds right before class. Once I get home, it shouldn't be too hard to actually get it to launch the appropriate client. Maybe add an option to bypass the launcher (if it's possible).

Read more carefully - he knows that TQ and SiSi are different clients requiring two installs. He wants a single interface to select which of teh two clients to launch. Maybe have the launcher handle the installation and maintenance of the test server without requiring manual user interaction - such as what Blizzard does with WoW.

I stand corrected, by going back to the page 2 I noticed it beeing mentioned in one of his posts, I somehow skiped that one.

Op if you want an custom made launcher instead of the CCP one, send me a mail and we will work something out....10% ISK discount for not reading one of your replys. :)

Taedrin

As I previously mentioned, construction of this could (and I don't know) constitute a violation of the EULA. If I may make a suggestion to send it to CCP Cascade (as he replied in thread) as a workaround. Who knows, you might get paid for it

Cheers

Nope, because I won't be doing anything that Windows doesn't do when you click on the EVE Online icon. All it will do is open the EVE executable file. You might be able to bypass the launcher by directly opening ExeFile.exe in the bin directory instead of the launcher executable.

Or in other words, if it IS against the EULA, then so to is anyone with a Windows operating system - which would make doing business impossible for CCP.

Only if you try to sell stuff for real money.

Creating apps for the community was never a problem, that's why we have the Eve Technology Forum section.

You might just post your idea over there too and I bet someone will just make you such a launcher for free, might even be me. :)
