Basic POS defences in hisec?

What defences should I put up on a basic research POS in hisec? Is there a guide somewhere to designing this aspect of the POS?

Thanks

Common defense strategies:

  • Join an alliance, drop when wardecced. For now this a valid tactic. Alternatively, when war decced, join the Dec shield alliance. After 24 hours, drop alliance. If your stront bay is full, a corp won't be able to get your pos.

  • Take the pos down when war decced. You have 24 hours between when you ate informed about the dec and when fighting starts.

If you truly wish to actually fight, warp scrams, small, long range guns with a few medium ones, hardeners, and if caldari tower, ecm batteries. Also, do not clump guns in one group. Spread them out, or a smartbombing battleship can damage all mods at once.

As long as you aren't wardecced, you don't need any defences--anybody who attacks will get concorded

If you are wardecced, you can use a dec shield alliance, temporarily take down the POS, or put up a bunch of hardeners and/or guns just as you would if the POS were in lowsec. Since cap ships aren't allowed in hisec, just a bunch of hardeners will be sufficient to discourage attacks from most players, as taking down the POS

Okay, sounds good. I'll do the decshield strategy, I suppose.

Remember that the Dec shield strategy may be pulled with the next expansion, so be prepared.

Also, there are ways to minimize risk. Keep bpos in an office in a station in the same system as the pos. This way you can research without endangering the bpos.

I'll keep an eye out for a change. Thansk for the tip.
