Anybody else not happy with the new rookie ships?

More specifically the new reapers?

Yes its a trivial matter, but it shant go unnoticed. I often fly my rookie ships to quickly travel from region to region, and I cant bear flying a ship that looks like it was bought at toys r us. What happened to the signature style of minmitar ships. Rusty steel, transparent solar panels, sharp edges and duct tape. What are these contoured edges?!?! Did the reaper have sex with a gallente ship and poop out this atrocity?! I demand answers!

i think the new ibis is smokin hot but im gallente so all i ever get is velators :firstworldproblems:

In short, no. I love the new ships, although admitedly, haven't have a good look at the reaper, don't have any filthy slave characters. The Impairor in particular is my favourite ship in the game now, and Velator/Ibis are awesome. Assuming the Reaper matches the concept art (the other 3 do) I actually prefer it to the old Minmatar ships. It atleast looks remotely space-worthy. The old Minnie ships look like scaffolding with engines, was never a fan of that style really.

Also, still hoping CCP add T2 ships with the rookie hulls, I wants me a battle Impairor(that doesn't suck)

Sorry, I just think the Minmatar ships are all awfulLol I only really like the thrasher, and that other ship that looks abit like it, cyclone maybe? I can see how changing the style so much would annoy someone with a rust fetish though.

They have been in since the last patch. Oh, anyone noticed the icons for the ships still show the old style? Wish my sexy Ibis had a nicer looking icon.

What now?Shocked The new Velator is great. The old one was awful, and i think they managed to renew the design whilst still keeping the "Velatorness" of the original. Guess theres no accounting for taste P

New reaper looks totally awesome, just like all the rookie ships now. I sorta wish they were more viable to fly around for fun because I adore how the Ibis and Reaper look now.

I'm waiting for the day one can link the rookie ships in chat or notes. Kinda sad CCP made all this effort and you can't see another ship than the faction you were born into. Or make it so you get the rookie ship of the faction of the station you dock in? (if you have the racial frig lvl 1 that is)

Haven't checked all the ships but so far I like the Reaper and the Velator except for the fact that the Velators lower engines don't have engine trails :( (though they do have a glow still... )

Need to load up a 200DPS Velator and have some lolfun.

Edit because I like to and 'cause it's important: thx for this redesign, it's really interesting evn thou I was not expecting those to keep to much basic traits the thing is that they look incredibly good now. Oc Velator is mah favourite

I like the new Velator look as well. But now those poor Gallente drug-fueled designers are going to be despondent if all the ships are going to be made to look different than their old trippy dreamy originals did.

On a related note, anyone noticed how on the concept art for the Ibis, it shows turret hardpoints on the top of the craft, and also on the nose below the cockpit in addition to the side mounted hardpoints? Ingame there are clearly hardpoints in these spots(you can see where the turrets are meant to go) but weapons are all mounted on the side hardpoints. What are these mystery third hardpoints for? Secret T2 rookie ships in the works?Shocked I certainly hope so.P
