A global window where people can post adverts in a certain category (like banking, corp creation, research labs, pos anchoring, other etc) for services they sell. The advert board should be filterable by category and have a search field to help ppl find what they want and filter out what they dont (filter by category).

In a nutshell, take the service posts from "want to buy" forum and make it available in game.

Adverts would probably need some kind of keep alive button that needed to be pressed by the owner ever 2 weeks or month or something so old and out of date adverts would die.

This has been discussed a few times. The issue is that either it will be completely obnoxious and people will hate it or it will be tucked away in a quiet corner and no one will ever use it.

What exactly is wrong with the WTB/WTS forums?

well, the wtb forums are tucked away right at the bottom,
include generic stuff for sale not just services,
is not searchable for specific services (forum search isnt the best)
having the market in gmae adds depth (why would i choose to search a forum for something i want in game if i didnt have to?)

Dont see how it would be obnoxious, it would just be a neocon button like the ingame brouser or militia office. And now ithe the customisable option, itcould be as obvious or hidden away as you like.
