Bring back Manual Patch Option

CCP needs to re-release the manual patch option to fix this problem

I agree with this, since I'm experiencing a launcher error that so far I've only been able to correct with a MANUAL PATCH.

And since CCP has been so kind as to release yet ANOTHER patch after the initial s**tstorm launcher, without manual links, I can no longer play EVE.

Agree too. Why is it was so important to remove the manual patch, while u could expect the multiple errors in the launcher, from so many ppl.

Agreed. My launcher installed OK a few days ago but is now broken. Wont accept the newest patch. I get a fail message and a large "Exception during UpdaterModule.Update Traceback (most recent call last):" message.

This launcher is CLEARLY not ready for deployment to TQ!! Roll it back please!!!!

CCP, PLEASE STOP FIXING SOMETHING THAT WASNT BROKEN IN THE 1ST PLACE.

Manual patching!! BRING IT BACK!! No need for a "launcher" its not necessary and has given us nothing but more unnecesary mouse clicks. We DO NOT need a launcher to start the game. Havent needed one since I have playing (2.5 years) We dont need it now.

Signed, the launcher so far only accomplishes one goal thats not even on the wanted achievments lists, and that is to ANNOY ME !

I have now gone from launching my client with 3 clicks to 12 thank you ccp not to mention it's slow AND IT BREAKS THE GAME!

Patcher hangs about 50% through the download. Been through all posted "fixes" and nothing works

I'm filing petitions, I'm uploading files to GM's.

BUT I WANT TO PLAY THE ***** GAME TOO!

Currently downloading the patch from a file sharing website that a corp mate has posted for me which worked for me yesterday.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make the patches available as direct download until the problem is fixed. How long before my corpies get fed up with having to do this for me????

Downloaded the patch that a corp mate uploaded for me and I'm in game after importing via launcher.

Seriously, please, get this fixed before my corp mates get fed up of uploading the patch manually for me!!!!!!

Otherwise I'll be knocking on CCP's door at 5pm next Wednesday with my laptop in my hand shouting up at the window "Please sir, can I have a patch!"

You do realize that if they always offered manual patches (at least right now) they would probably never fully get the Launcher issues worked out as users would always just work around it using the Manual Patches.

Every other MMO uses a Launcher to update and such so it was only a matter of time before EVE caught up with the rest.

Give them time and they will work all the issues out. The massive variables CCP has to deal with when releasing this launcher was impossible to counter on the first shot.



But... I may host todays patch file as well for those that just wanna get ingame today... Stay tuned..

I assume you can actually play the game and not in the same position as us?

I assume you can actually play the game and not in the same position as us?

I would do whatever it took to get it to work. If there is a problem like this it isn't always the DEV's fault.

Years ago when I was playing the WoW beta (ya way back) I ran into similar problems with its auto updater/patcher. Downloading 3-6G over my 1.5mbit really was stinking after repeated attempts since the Launcher kept erroring out on the checksum. Turned out my ram was Overclocked wrong and throwing just the ever so slight error into the mix then trying to extract the massive files.

Fixed that and have been smooth sailing since.

When there is an issue like this. The best thing to do is to eliminate all possible variables between you and the content you. Those users who have Reformatted, (hopefully with a raw Win Disk and not a recovery medium from the pc OEM) then need to make sure all drivers are the lastest, then it is all down to hardware stability and then finally connection issues (Some ISP's have their own firewall that you have to tell them to disable. Some may block ports or ip's from europe due to spam, etc..)

And I have petitions open to find out why! Even though I have manually patched the game by the kindness of a corpie uploading an exported patch to a file-sharing web site, I'm still checking my petitions to see if GM Haggis needs any more information or files from me, extra to what I've already sent them.

I'll try my hardest to help CCP fix this damn annoying bug.......

Yeah we need to get this a hot topic!

I have completely reinstalled the game off my officer edition CD's and the Launcher / Repair tool will not even fix that version of the game

Yes I'm sure they prefer hundreds of people unsubbing because the game's unplayable over having an occasionally dodgy launcher.
