Obvious Patch Settings Proposal + Discussion re: automatically shutting off overheating.

Recently I got a dialog box asking me if I was sure if I wanted to log out.

I answered that question last patch and every patch before that, and I never want to answer it again. Please preserve settings during patches. :)

This seems a no-brainer so I don't expect much discussion on this point, but a bunch of thumbs-up would be nice.

More interesting, but off-topic:

From an RP perspective this makes sense, but Eve is a game not a movie, therefore I ask, qua game, if it would be good or bad to automatically shut off mods that are about to melt (at least turning their overheat off). There are a few instances where this would lose a ship but most often it would save the ship, and if you had the option to turn off the setting you could play perfectly manually rather than almost perfectly automatically and it would still allow a small edge for the person who knew that they must burn out a mod or die. I think it would be a better game without having to worry about that, though, because everyone already knows that it's bad to burn out mods so it doesn't add anything to the game by allowing us to do that.

It's not like at the end of a fight where I burn out I'm saying, "Oh wow, this is neat. I guess that burning out mods sucks for XYZ reasons, I learned somethign today!" Totally not like that. :)

Auto turning overheating off will be bad, because if one mod will be almost wrecked, you would must turn off overheating on whole rack. You know, since heat dmg distribution is almost random, right?

CCP really please dont use Upgraded, Limited, Experimental and Prototype in item names. It sounds like the item is actually worse than basic meta 1 item. Use Calibrated, Enhanced, Optimized and Upgraded. Its really easy to understand that the item is better than meta 1 and its also in alphabetic order.

Agree on the log-off thing. Also if they could stop all containers from resetting to 'locked' every patch, that would be marvelous too.

damn.

I don't really know overheat mechanics but this sounds correct.

Could you show us some instances where it would be bad and some where it would be good and estimate approximately the cost of a mistake one way or the other and then tell us how often each situation occurs?
