you've already gotten some good advice, so I'll only add this...

At this early point it is very important to remember this is a GAME, grab a ship, go run some missions, look for a LS system if you want to pvp and go start some trouble, or go mine, or whatever...

it is NOT important that you start out on the right foot (perfect skill selection, know where you want to be in 3mo, 6mo...etc) at this point it is only important that you get in a ship, and play with it like it was a toy given to you at 12... you'll enjoy the game more that way. When you get time come back and re-read some of the more detailed answers here and you can start to get serious about your skills-ships-mods-career.

Don't lose the joy of this wonderful game in the rush for bigger and badder ships and skills... they will all come in due course, relax, go blow some S*** up and enjoy getting yourself blown up on occasion.

never fly what you can't replace
have fun, flying, trying and dying
