Maths.

The approximate number of potential SP in the game is 450 Million. The max training rate is around 2770 (I'm currently not into specifics, too drunk for that). Assuming you, from day one, plugged in a set of +5 implants, and remapped to perfectly train all categories of skills; it would take 22.5 years without losing time due to podding or forgetting to put skills into the queue.

It also would be pointless..... Do you really need amarr. Caldari. Gal and mini titian V? Lol I don't think I want any of them to five lol

You need them to V to fly a titan (if you're not a scrub), so if you're a titan pilot you want at least one of them to V

Trainable at a max rate of 2700 SP/h → 18 years, 7 days, 18 hours, and 40 minutes, at the very least assuming you have perfectly timed (and adequately numbered) remaps.

Of course, over that period of time, we have 4 or 5 leap years (or even just 3, if you could magically start as early as 1899 or if the game survive in its current form until after 2100 AD), depending on which year you start, so if you're checking the calendar for when you'll be finished, reduce the number of days by 4 or 5 as appropriate.

If/when the new ship skill changes goes through, it will add 27 ranks (6,912,000 SP) to Spaceship Command, which will extend the training time by 106 days and 16 hours for a total of 18y, 114d, 10h, 40min.

Why Bother, the game is designed so as to force players to have more than one character. Ha for all there faults CCP know how to make money.

Minus ~12 days because you don't (currently) need Multi-tasking to V.

Of course you do. This is about all skills to V, not all useful skills to useful V:s. P

Also, Multitasking V is needed if you fit signal amps or auto-targeters on your Marauder, Logi, Combat Recon, or other ship that takes 10 targets natively.

Destroyers are rank 2. are they planning to bump it up? then it would add 28 ranks (-6-2+4×(6+3)).

No, you're quite right.

I've just got the numbers mixed up from all the “onoz, poor newbies/crosstrainers” whines in the feedback thread. Ugh
It's only 24 more ranks (3× rank 2 and rank 6).

edit: That's 6,144,000 SP or another 94 days, 19 hours, 33 minutes and 20 seconds worth of training at max speed.

And you forgot skillbooks such as Mobile Refinery Operation (which I had, but unfortunately I decided to start training it (years ago) before knowing what it didn't do) which still exist, but aren't useful for anything.

I really wish they'd bring in that skill, btw. Just make it super expensive and super rare to get the skillbook (hehe) and super risky and/or painful to own a mobile refinery.

I'd like to remind people that the racial battlecruiser and destroyer skills will not necessarily be the same rank as their generic counterparts. In fact, I'd expect rank 1 destroyers and rank 2 battlecruisers to be par for the course. This will slightly increase the SP in Spaceship Command, but to nowhere near the magnitude that you're suggesting.
