Reseach Agent Quality

Since the patch that took out agent quality how is research agent quality calculated? Is it done on the security status of the system the agent is located in?

RP/day = Field multiplier * (1 + (AQ + 5*N)/100) * (SS + AL)^2
AQ = Agent Quality
N = character's Negotiation skill level
SS = character's specialist science field level (eg "Quantum Physics")
AL = Agent Level

This was the calculation shown on the evelopedia.

Not today spaghetti.

Quality doesn't exist any more.

I've got 6 level 4 agents, and they're all giving me 92.80 RP/Day

Negotiation 5
Relevant Science Skill(s) 4

I have a vague recollection that agent quality is effectively nailed at 20 for all but can't be bothered to run the maths to see if that fits.

For the record, my figures:
Negotiation: 3 (I really must put another level or two in there at some point)
Relevant Science: 5
= 109.35rp/day on level 4 agents

As Tekota said, all agents have quality 20 now.

So so ...

Quality still exists and is 20 for all agents. Differences in quality no longer exist between agents. (or in other words, quality is no longer relevant, but it's still there)

Don't forget that the RP/Day depends on which datacore you are researching, some cost more RP's per Datacore so therefore you get more RP's per day to compensate.

It's high time CCP equalised it so all Datacores cost 50 RP's and adjusted the agents RP's per day accordingly.

It's only there because nobody has rewritten the formula , if all agents are the same quality (20) then effectively it doesn't exist since you can't use anything different.

So the formula needs re-writing to be:

RP/day = Field multiplier * (1 + (20+5*N)/100) * (SS + AL)^2

N = character's Negotiation skill level
SS = character's specialist science field level (eg "Quantum Physics")
AL = Agent Level

Which takes away the need for agent quality to be put in since it's a known figure.

So in theory it's still there, but not displayed since there's no need for people to know it anymore.

They should only do this if they also adjust everyone's accumulated datacores. For example, i have 22000 rp for gravitron physics datacores. At 100 rp each, I get 220. Ccp would have to change my number as otherwise I would get 440. This would be an unfair advantage to me and in some cases may flood the market with datacores, impacting prices.

Not good neither

And yes, your personal standings with the agent have an influence on your rp/d, that standing is not automatic at maw if it's the first time you work with it.
The only way to increase it is by doing the daily mission, witch is a pain in the arse since you can do only one per day for the same agent, but it's fair enough, there are already far too much Datacores on the market

I forgot to add that :)

Those are the exact numbers that I get across my agents. At least where I have Neg V and datacore IV. On the one character still stuck at Neg IV, he only gets 86.40/day.

(Different corps, different system security status, different standings - none of it seems to matter. Just the Negotation skill and the datacore skill.)

That's something I need to do at some point - grind at least 1 mission with each agent so that the Connections skill kicks in.

Some of the datacores are still in high demand, others aren't:
