I thought EVE was about: Improvise, adapt, and overcome? I guess I was wrong.

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

New Patch today and new stealth nerf to high sec piracy by CCP

Our corp has taken on the good work of ridding Gallente Ice belts of bots, something CCP tends to fail horribly at.Prior to the patch we were able to clear Concord by boarding a noob ship in space near the belt we had just killed and committing another act of piracy.

It appears now since the latest patch, that you can no longer board a new ship while in space in high sec while having GCC. This means you now have to wait til your GCC runs out to clear Concord from the belt or use another alt/player.

I'm not sure if this carries over to low sec or not as we just discovered this "new" feature tonight, that wasn't there yesterday before the patch.

Stealth changes are bad.

This change is bad.

The suicide system is already and still flawed in your favor to the point of stupidity. The fact that cheap as dirt destroyers can suicide gank a 200mil hulk is in itself laughable and just plain ********.Dont get me wrong i dont blame anyone for using these flaws/blessing's to get rich with little effort, to each his own.But for you to get on here and cry about sec status gain is just plain ignorant and delusional. If you were a real pirate sec status wouldnt matter to you anyways.Seems to me you and the ones who support your opinion in this want to roam freely in Empire space to do as you please without consequences.grow a pair of space balls and embrace your -10 you weekend warrior.

I don't really care about the change, but introducing such stuff without patch notes is just terrible style. Especially in a game that complex. Really really uncool CCP.

I have to agree with all of the criticism of CCP in this thread, this stealth nerfs/mechanics changes are just not good for the game or it's playerbase. For all of you who agree with these sorts of changes, it's all fun and games until it changes something that affects you. Personally I think CCP should apologise for this change, hold some form of consultation on lowsec and hi-sec pvp and ask the community as a whole what they actually want instead of what seems to be a series of broken patches and stealth nerfs towards EVE 'Carebear Adventure' Online.

Truth.

As well, ITT: Myopic, obtuse, self-absorbed carebears being selfishly myopic and obtuse.

E: Egregious example of the above--

I remember that... Not like we all didn't have instas to 0 anyhow.

Though I think the primary reason they added warp to 0 was due to the strain on their database that resulted from us having as many as 10 thousand bookmarks in our folders.

So they killed wt15 and added wt0, while removing the need for instas. Sloppy way to fix the problem. :/

A bit of an overreaction, don't you think?

Real pirates go -10 and stay there. : >

Yeah, it makes highsec suicide ganking a little more problematic but that's not piracy anyway. It's just lame suicide ganking.

I fail to see what's so 'fundamentally broken' about this - the traditional methods of ratting sec back have always involved going to nullsec in a stealth bomber, where spawns have multiple BS's for everyone to kill so this is irrelevant, lowsec plexes/highsec missions also have multiple bs's so everyone can shoot one to get their sec gain, as do the vast majority of sec gaining methods.

So, the only place this is actually a nerf to is killing single NPC BS's in lowsec belts along with your freinds - and well I've done this and am slightly annoyed by the change, it is only a pain *because* CCP added BS's to lowsec belts in the first place! They're a fairly recent development, so really, even with this change CCP has done more to improve the ease of regaining sec recently than it has to hurt it.

Consequences should be consequences, and I'm saying that as someone who ******* hates ratting their sec up. I think it's rather fitting that I avoid shooting the 3-day old rifters in belts because "it's not worth ratting the sec up" - that's why the ******* sec is there, not to just provide a slap on the wrist while you merrily pew everything in sight.

If you want to do that, go -10 and don't look back (been there and ratted it all back up, solo), and don't ***** about not being able to shoot everything you want and still have access to highsec without any effort involved.

EDIT: seriously, I get the suicide ganker tears, but don't make this out as a huge CCP hates pirates nerf. It really isn't that big of a deal.

is this a horrible nerf?

Like I said earlier, the "old" way of everyone getting the full benefit was probably broken and I don't think anyone with any sense would argue that it makes sense for an interloper with a target painter to get the same sec bonus as the guy who did all the actual work. I have two issues here:

-Undocumented changes are a bad thing and should be called out EVERY TIME. If we fail to do that, we allow CCP to make a habit of making changes to game mechanics that we simply have to discover, often in unfortunate ways.
-This particular change discourages cooperative play, which CCP has indicated they want to see more of. After all the bluster about Incursion and how its intent was to bring more people together, this runs counter to those goals.

Oh god, now your 5 man ratting fleet has to find 5 battleships to shoot every 15 minutes instead of just one. How will you ever manage?

Who cares if they didn't tell you. The game works a certian way now. You can either keep on playing, finding new tactics and tricks, and not giving a damn or you can whine about on the forums like an impotent child. You appear to have chosen your path already.

Actually, I don't have to rat to improve my sec status. My normal exploration activities repair what little damage I do to it.

That they didn't tell us is kind of a big deal to me. This change doesn't affect me at all; I'm in this discussion on principle. A rather significant change was made to a mechanic without any warning or any discussion with the player base. CCP never even addressed this as a problem that needed to be fixed, they simply implemented the change and then shrugged and said "oops" when they were called out for not putting it in the patch notes. It's a bad way to treat your customers and I want them to know that.

People here seem to not understand that piracy is more than ganking people in lowsec.
