New launcher, problems updating

The new launcher isn't patching my client properly: the progress bar gets as far as 25% and then restarts, ad infinitum.

It's being run as administrator in Windows 7.

Ideas?

It started anew once or twice for me, which seems to be intended. Does it do it even more often? Sounds very odd then. Considering the issues I had, did you try restarting your machine, then running repair.exe?

Just tried that, on your suggestion - repair finishes fine, but the launcher issue remains.

Same thing happening here, the launcher goes to something, then something then 15% then 25% and right back to 0% still trying to create the same patch file. Found another post saying to re install direct X from the bin folder in the eve files. Doesn't work! Please help!

... and now when I try to start the client, I get this message

"Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe lcoated in the EVE game directory or re-install the game client. File not found: C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\_PyFreeTypeP.dll.

This is *after* running repair.exe

Can we have an option to manually patch until these launcher issues are ironed out, pretty please?

I'm also having issues with the patch. I start the game and login and it says a new patch is available and it opens a new launcher, but it says patch was unsuccessfull. Tried three times.

Seems to be working launching repair.exe (it download a new version of it) and applies the patch.

Same problem, will try the repair thing and come back to see if anything change..

Before to launch new stuff, they should look at all variables ^

(edit: I see like 22-23 000 players online so it's not a big problem but a problem who affect some of us, which one? I dunno... but will try to find out, if problem continue after the repair, I'll post my error log who have popped in my face a bit sooner)

Thanks for the try Watercooler, but that didn't help me. I think our problems are different.

I just finished downloading the full client to try and get back into the game, but even that seems to want to update the launcher and I'm back to square one. Well, actually a little different: with the new installation, after updating the launcher, launching Eve simply opens a command window briefly, then closes it immediately and nothing else happens.

Repair seems to do sweet **** all. Finishes by saying repair completed successfully, then a popup box saying an error has occured and refers to a log file. The contents of that file looks like this:

Quote:
Exception in thread Thread-2:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "threading.pyc", line 530, in __bootstrap_inner
File "threading.pyc", line 483, in run
File "zsync\readFromUrl.pyc", line 117, in DownloadPart
File "zsync\readFromUrl.pyc", line 136, in _DownloadPart
File "zsync\zsync.pyc", line 762, in callback
FileSyncError: data corruption

No handlers could be found for logger "zsync"

I'm fast becoming bored with this, can I get some Dev help with the situation please?

Where is your EVE Client located? If it's somewhere under "C:\Program Files" under Windows Vista or Windows 7 you might have to run the launcher with admin rights. As an alternative move your Installation to another path. Do this as well if there are some irregular (i.e. non-ANSI characters; that's everything besides a-z with accents or dots or whatever, like ä, ö, é, etc.) in the path to your EVE folder.

This is the same error I've been getting for singularity for the last 2 weeks , and now on the main server. Very annoying. It's got to be something wrong in the patch download files mayby ?

I also had this problem with the test server last week - I assumed it would be fixed by the time it made it into the Crucible 1.5.

I still can't login, and I have a skill queue finishing at the end of the day.

What is going on?

Funny, once i left my home with my working laptop (mac) it worked in updating while at home both my windows desktop and mac laptop would keep spewing out errors

Windows desktop (7 64-bit professional) is still not working though...

Here are a couple of error images that i get:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32776552/Capture.PNG
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32776552/Capture1.PNG

Along with log files in the referenced temp folder saying:

Exception in thread Thread-2:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "threading.pyc", line 530, in __bootstrap_inner
File "threading.pyc", line 483, in run
File "zsync\readFromUrl.pyc", line 117, in DownloadPart
File "zsync\readFromUrl.pyc", line 136, in _DownloadPart
File "zsync\zsync.pyc", line 762, in callback
FileSyncError: data corruption

No handlers could be found for logger "zsync"

Error log contents are identical to Eudaimonea's quote!

This should be an easy fix if it's consistent!
