soooo... ready to get into the game... all patched up. I go to log in, and what do I see? An old school 5+ meg client update on the login screen, after the new launcher finished updating everything. Whats up with that? Aren't those supposed to be a thing of the past now?

Sign me up for that. And when talking about opera, I really mean Opera, my favourite browser. Hitting a link in the launcher will open IE, which I do not use and nobody really should. Furthermore it will just sit there without an URL to open or is that just me?

Please make sure to use the system's chosen standard browser and passing an URL to it.

While I was writing this and the launcher downloaded stuff, it threw an exception: http://pastebin.de/24192
The Windows error in German says "cannot access file as it is used by another process".

Seems alright but I have several installs on my computer for a few reasons. So now I had to download all the data again and again. Its not a big problem as I dont pay / MB, but it is slowing things and makes more load for your servers.

Also I havent tested yet, but can you now run separate launchers at once and update the clients at the same time? If not that would be cool...

Something wrong with the installer of the new Launcher..

launcher crashed on installation... entire client screwed now. 3 other corp members have the same issue.

Running
MAC OS X 10.7.3
on iMAC

Support is not being very useful at this stage..

Try copying/overwriting the files of your extra clients with the ones from the client you updated. There should be no need to download everything again if you already have it on your disk.

Ok

The new launcher .. Very slow and after an hour reports that patch was unsuccessful
so tried again.. Same result
tried repair.exe again it fails as well

a bit of a mess nothing works now...

any options that I should be trying???

This is up next on our hitlist. We didn't want to change too many things at the initial release as it increases the risk of something going wrong. It was a big enough step to rewrite and replace the current client patching mechanic for both windows and Mac. Blink

But yes, this will be included in the Launcher in the future.

This is a known issue and will be resolved in a point release.

It does, we just tell the OS to open the link in the default browser. I just tried this on machine with Opera and it worked fine.

Update requests an admin login from my windows. I am admin here, full admin, with all privs and logged in. There is no other admin account, nor another admin password. Refuses my admin acc+pass however, which means no install, which means no eve. First time I've ever seen that kind of request, as well. Not good.

What a mess Ive been trying to get this thing to work all day. I had to remove the client from my computer and ow it refuses to reinstall. NOT HAPPY

Disaster!
It asks me to download the 3MB file, I do so, then install it errors and asks me to run the repair.exe which doesn't work.

Total diaster. I just came back to this game after a year break and I remember the frustrations of builds just never working on launch. Massive massive fail.

It is most likely saying that you still have files in the folder you're trying to install into. I would suggest going into that folder and manually deleting files you have there or install into another directory.

I can't belive that CCP copied imho the badest thing that the most other MMORPG have. It's slower, looks like the others and is the badest Idea they had for a long time. It's a lot slower, full of bugs and there's a good chance that you're client not gonna work. I had an "Exeption-Error" on C:\\Games\\EVE\\bin\\python27.dll. Very nice errorhandling What? To be honest, I saw that comming. I really miss the old updateing system. I really appreciated it and was proud that EVE don't had that bad launcher systems like everybody else. Can't belive that there are Spacepilots (customers) out there, who really demand such a useless tool. I'm just disappointed from CCP. Over..

Well I basically give up.

Patch doesn't install.

Repair tool loads nothing upon clicking it.

Uninstalled, then attempted to reinstall 'bulk data missing'

Downloaded the two zip files it told me to, 1 hour later 'nulk data missing'

Can't even get the client onto my computer now. Shambles and no help whatsoever.

All I did was killed the Internet Browser processes in my task manager and the patch went through just fine. I guess when you're at the Eve website it uses some files in the Eve folder and the patch can't do its thing.

I didn't have this issue, but another person on teamspeak said they were using Google Chrome and by closing the browsers they were able to resolve this too... But another person I told this to didn't seem to resolve the problem using this method.

Put client update into launcher too!
Still need to reboot game several times before start to apply client updates.

When will this actually be true for the Mac client without having to screw with config files? The option claimed to exist on the wiki… well, it doesn't exist. I really don't appreciate being forced to waste even more time than I already do, waiting for the loading of the emulation junk wrapped around the EVE client to finish loading so I can finally start to log in.

This would also be something nice… y'know, if it actually existed on the Mac version. The second class citizen thing gets old after a while… Ugh
