Warning "Multiple instances of the Launcher cannot be run from the same directory. This instance will now close."

What the **** is this again. You CCP want us players to waste time on stupid launch of game, now all clients need to wait with loadding for your slow servers response. What made click click click process 1min+ long

First you get us lag on your server response, now you get us hit by this launcher junk.

Also don't advice to bug report this junk, as last thing reported got response after 2 months, and still isn't fixed.

you notice this because prior to today, an eve patch just killed all your clients before starting to patch.

now you can confirm this so this is kind of an upgrade

Cie,
I got mine to work by launching the launcher_console in the ..\launcher folder

Start one, log into the client
Start next......

Hope it works for you

For the people who are not trying to help here, please don't post anything at all.

Yes it is, as before last patch you simply open 3 clients at once, now you have to wait for each one to load separate to launch new one.

Also we were promise NEW launcher that is replaced launcher, we wasn't promised ADDED launcher, who is there only for marketing purpose.

This simply become ridiculous I might stare at ship in station for half hour not thinking about anything at all, but its my freaking free choice and no one force me to do it. Thing what just happens is how SOE behave in many cases, and do we play SOE games, no, so why this rude habits come after us here.

hi,

got the same issue today.

go to launcher settings, switch it off unless there is a patch - you can start now multiple clients simultaneously again.

CCP also mentioned that the new launcher wouldn't yet replace the login screen; they wanted to make sure that the Launcher itself worked before they integrate it with the login code and risk having to tear the whole thing apart again later looking for bugs.

So, you can't load three clients at once. I see no problem with, y'know, waiting for a moment while the clients open. Slow down, take a breath, and just....be...patient. It's not like EvE is going to totally vanish between now and the activtion of the third client.

Just for clarification, are you running multiple clients from the same directory? Or do you have separate installations?

Same directory. As always.
SSD drive is much faster but short on space, SCSI drive with 3 separate instalations would lag like hell :).

You are running the Multiple Clients 1 Install method from here right?

You will have the launcher start each time for each acct/client you start, but you could also turn the launcher off unless there is an update in the launchers options menu. What?

You of course should have to patch only once (unless there is a client update which does patch ingame for each client.)
If I helped you out, Technical Issue, enemy gank, popped your poor fit, hit the "Like" button.

As noted below, the easiest thing for you to do would be to hide the Launcher when no update is available. Otherwise, to get around the short waiting period between client startups via the shortcut (the multiple instance problem you mention), you can simply run one instance of the Launcher, and click "Play" for as many clients as you'd like to start.

I use the junction method listed in the wiki: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Multiple_clients so both clients have different settings while maintaining one install of EVE. Should I still be doing this? Or should I be doing something else for that sort of functionality? I get the multiple client message listed above, so I changed the shortcut for the second client to just point to exefile in the bin directory, since the main client patches the 1 install I run from.

You do realize the reason this is being done is to run 2 clients on 2 different monitors, pressing Play twice just gets you 2 copies on the same monitor.

You could up your dual monitor support so we would not have to do this.

Yes that is how I launch eve. But I don't want to as its also annoying.
I find launching eve 3 step process as for 3 different windows.
Fist would be new launcher what we can turn off is no update available,
Second crucible image window when all communication is done, and here is where it lags about 15seconds per client.
Third eve process where you can login to account.
First and Second step will generate this error, error only don't happens if launcher is not skipping
(unchecked option to display only if update is avaible)
but then play button is getting grey after every use for 5 seconds or similar
(of course launcher can't have option to close after eve launch checked).

Also launcher window will always be in center of main screen upon launching, and as second step will always be on top you can't hit play play play, need to move launcher window elsewhere, but new position will not be saved, and upon new launching launcher it will get back to center.

You don't need the /noconsole or the /server, it knows everything it needs to know to run without those switches.
