patch 1.5 issue, step 6 causing connection loss

i launch EVE like normal and click the ok to download and install the patch, it closes EVE and starts the patcher, working fine until step 6. at that point it stops completely at "initiating Download" and i watch my internet connection icon go red(meaning no connection) and stays red until the patcher is forcibly closed.

while the net shows "down" i cannot even reach the router, so it seems the 1.2->1.5 patcher is causing some sort of Denial of Service attack on the router.

is there a manual patch hosted somewhere to circumvent this problem?

edit:

tried repair tool, stops and kills internet at step 3 "initiating download" after the 25 minutes of it verifying files.

Try opening the settings for the Launcher and lowering the amount of threads that it is using. See if that does it. You should also look into upgrading the firmware for your router. If you can find any logs in the router, you might get a hint on why it is shutting you out.
