Cascading Fails, Oh and Archive "Validation" needs fixing

So patch fails, big surprise. Happening to tons of people today.
So I head over to repair.exe. It FAILS. #&^@ now I have reinstall.
Downloaded the windows installer from http://community.eveonline.com/download/ and it fails tells me to download manually from http://community.eveonline.com/download/?fallback=1
Several hours later download is complete. I run the installer exe and it gets to 99% extraction and FAILS. #&^@!!!
Check make sure no files lying around to cause havoc. Run the installer again with admin privileges still fails.

Finally I decide to look inside the archive files in case I can somehow do it manually and the 2nd payload archive is corrupt!!! Would never have known because the installer exe "Validated" it and said it was ok.

Currently re-downloading 2nd payload, but HEY DEVS, can you look into this validation thing? A corrupt archive file should not be OK'ed by the installer.

Update:
2nd payload finished downloading and was not corrupt this time. Installer worked. Back up and running.... now just have to change all my settings
