Had issues using the launcher and repair.exe due to files being opened by other processes (for whatever reason). Have you tried restarting your machine and then trying to run repair.exe again?

I have the exact same problem. I cant afford to download 7gig of data for a game that is just going to break itself every month. What the **** is going on here? please provide a fix. If i have to download the client again i am canceling my subs.

i have CCP answer from another topic:

Hi, please try running the Repair Tool with the following arguments: --buildno=344784
This should repair your client to the previous TQ build. After that, you should be able to re-install the Launcher as normal.

and looks like its working

nvm... patching failed again :(

Run cmd as administrator, navigate to the eve directory and type "repair --buildno=344784", you can also try the --help, that will list some other useful commands.

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=80389&find=unread downloaded 3rd rollback patch, installed, and game patched to 1.5 without any issues (try starting ExeFile itself from EVE folder if it won't start after patching)

you can't run game properly though, launcher will give you error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "launcher.py", line 15, in < module >
File "zipextimporter.pyc", line 104, in load_module
zipimport.ZipImportError: can't find module core_utils

so you are stuck with ExeFile at the moment.

I downloaded and applied 3rd patch, now my client is 1.5 but I still cannot start the game by Exe file or launcher... what the hell is going on.

My error log is the same like that

File "launcher.py", line 15, in < module >
File "zipextimporter.pyc", line 104, in load_module
zipimport.ZipImportError: can't find module core_utils

I try to patch the game with the launcher and I get an error that I will not post here if not requested as it is very big.
So I figured I will run the repair tool.

"An error occurred during the repair"

WHAT THE.....

had the same problem as the op and i have the solution (atleast it worked for me)

1. run the repair tool with this command line "repair --buildno=344784" (c:\EVE\repair --buildno=344784)
it will patch eve to the before 1.5 update version.
2 download this patch evepremiumpatch344784-349998_m.exe it will patch eve to the before 1.5 update
3. apply the patch in the link.
4. run eve from bin\EXEfile.exe (if u have few chars and use to run shortcuts with "EVE\eve.exe /END /LUA:OFF" runt it with "EXEfile.exe --/END /LUA:OFF")
