Crucible 1.5 brings us the launcher, which makes setting up multiboxing a wee bit more complicated.

I have updated the wiki page to give complete instructions on how to do it, especially if you're symlinking.

It is best to start by updating your main client, deleting your symlinked copies, and then recreating them. The big change is that the "real" EVE Online.app is hidden inside the launcher's package, and you need to symlink that.

Cool thanks. Any info on the vast majority of MAC users that can not even get the launcher installed?

Multiboxing...

Info.plist editing no longer works, see my separate post.

Any ideas please ?

He linked the updated wiki page in post #1. You need to start with the original plist method, but then continue reading. There are two different methods on what to do after that since the 1.5 patch.

You now have to edit a different info.plist, the one in the EVE Online.app that is inside the new EVE Online.app (which is really the launcher).

If you click on the link in my OP and look at the Mac instructions, I have also updated the basic instructions about info.plist to reflect the new process.

There is a new clonemaker. If you go to the Wiki page linked by Trebor you can download it. I just tried it and it works, directs the clone to the correct application support folder and everything.

Thanks for the info on the new nested info.plist.

Hopefully will be ok now.

I must admit, once the forum was taken down and therefore no news or info was forthcoming I had actually decided to give up on Eve.

The final straw for me being their inability to even bother telling us in advance about the change. I mean, it's a very simple remedy which would have taken a very simple post to notify us about.

But did they bother....?

Heh, didn't you know mac users are the redheaded stepchildren of eve?

I learned my lesson that I need to scour the forums for info on patch day when they rolled out Incarna! At least the stuff I needed to know was on the first page instead of the 13th, 25th, 47th, and 72nd pages.....

But you're right, a quick post to twitter would be helpful (hint hint CCP).

EDIT:

I was about to thank CCP for tweeting about this issue, but the tweet was for people who use Cyrillic!! Are there really more people with localization issues than people who multibox with the Mac client? Seems like you would want to make sure the people who like the game enough to buy more than one subscription are always happy, but what do I know -- I use OSX...

I have a question: is it possible to use the patch I downloaded for my imac on my macbook? They're both running 10.6.8. it would be nice to not to have to re-download 179MB...

If so, where is the patch file downloaded? I couldn't find it using the finder search function and what I assume is the filename in the launcher window.

Thanks!
