No angel sites...what a rip off. Only sites that are worth a damn are the Red Lights, Occupied Mining, and if your really bored, Minor angel annex for domination rat at the end. Maybe we will get lucky and next patch will be 100 sites for angels ;)

Angels got the 3/10 and 4/10 not long ago plus the new invulnerability fields including a bug/oversight that makes everyone swarm this space at the moment.

DED sites only respawn during DT. Is this correct?

False, consensus is sites respawn somewhere else once they're cleared. They're stay in the exact same place through DT, and only disappear once someone completes then, or they expire naturally (again, +- 3 days lifetime if the forums are anything to go by)

3 days lifetime is only after someone initiate warp to the site.

Otherwise they stay longer ... much longer

I agree since wormholes show Sleeper sites can pile up in big numbers in empty systems, and I see no reason why CCP would have created a different spawn mechanic for them.

It's a common misconception that running around highsec directly after DT will get you more DED hits. In fact, if you're a fast and organised scanner you'll get more results when there are a lot of people online completing sites elsewhere. The drawback of course is that you end up contesting a lot of sites because of the number of competitors online. But that's a large part of the fun for me Cool

This totally sucks CCP. I got really excited about this patch only to be let down.

This isn't what we were led to believe was going to be in this patch, adding a couple of crappy 2/10's is no where near what I was expecting.

Interesting.

Sensible to announce those as they seem intended for newer players. Common sense says they should restrict a 2/10 gate against all types of advanced cruisers, which would seriously reduce the over-running faced by new cruiser pilots. I let them alone to finish, but I gather most pilots would just blitz past.

DED 2/10s only let in frig and destroyer hulls IIRC.

And while it'd be great if CCP was intending this to be for new players, most of these 2/10s are going to be camped and farmed by older players in fancy ships* that can finish the site and grab the loot before a new player has gotten their bearings in site. * Even if you can't get a T3 in, someone in a navy/pirate/faction fit ship is going to finish it faster than any newbie.

but they could at leat mentione that the other 46 sites were added even without their names and rank ... now it looks like only the 2/10s made it ...

I'm still on the fence with this one. It may be that the three new 2/10's have new 4-step escalations, which would account for a dozen "new sites". Still doesn't come close to 50.

I'm hoping CCP will clarify whether someone earlier got too carried away mentioning 50 sites, or that they're releasing them piecemeal over later updates, or...?

3 new 2/10's
16-19 of each 2/10

= "over 50 new DED..."

Who knows.

If you really believed they were adding 50 sites, then you're a gullible moron.

At any rate, what they need to do is move static sites to exploration. Give new explorers something to do other than crap radars and mags.

I don't know about you, but I have found quite a lot of DED 1/10 or 2/10 Sites through probing them out rather than having static sites in various High-Sec systems. And so far, i couldn't find any of the 'new DED sites' on the star map, so i guess they are also spawned sites you have to scan down.

It is not a terrible idea, but it would be sad to see a long time staple of frigate pvp vanish.

EDIT: SO according to CCP Nav the blurb on the features page is referring to the 50 sites that have been added, fixed, or changed over the past few months.

Score one for marketing!

as Zircon said,

CCP Navigator wrote:
Hello there,

I would like to take this opportunity to explain the discrepancy that was announced in the Crucible 1.5 patch notes page and features page.

We released Crucible 1.5 with three new DED sites, however, in the previous months over 50 sites have been added, fixed or changed.
