Hey all, so i got really bored of running missions( level 2's so far)
and i started doing trading a little withought realizing it was called trading until now lol
So what skills do i train for trading? i was looking at the business tycoon certs and i got those down, but are there any others? Will i need an industrial ship?

another question: what else goes best with trading? im interested in industry or planet management was was wondering if they share ships with trading and any skills that overlap.

industry is really confusing though, like researching, invention bla bla bla...

another important factor is how long the skils will take to train.. I know trading cant be too much right?

thanks!

EDIT: This is just me seeking attention.... but i just subscribed!!!!! dont know why it cost an extra 5$ though

Pretty much everything in the "Trade" skill subsection. Most of them are relatively low ranked skills so it doesn't take too long to max them out.

However, I should point out that none of these skills are actually necessary to do "trading" as a profession. The basic gist of the whole profession is "buy low, sell high." All the skills do is cut some taxes here, allow you to put up more sell orders there, buy orders over here, etc, etc.

It is recommended, yes. However, some people do make a tidy profit moving very small high-value items in frigates (requires significant capital and/or balls though).

If you want to move "bulkier items" then Industrials, T2 Transport ships, Frieghters, and T2 Jump Frieghters will be your bestest fwiends.

The Orca is also a good alternative if you want something that can haul and then some (with a sexy tank I might add). The only problem is that it deviates from the "Industrial ship" progression.

Trading overlaps with pretty much every profession out there. Even low-sec "outlaws" can make good use of trading skills if they set their minds to it and often reap obscene amounts of ISK because they are effectively dealing with a "captive market."

With Industry and PI... someone else will have to answer your question. I am not very well versed in either.

Most important trading skills in the beginning are Trade and Retail which increases the amount or orders you can have. (Wholesale and Tycoon does that also, but you dont need them in the beginning.)

If you have orders at several locations in same region, you probably want Daytrading so you can modify order prices remotely, maybe also Marketing (creating sell orders remotely) and Procurement (creating buy orders remotely).

Depending on how serious you are, you might want other skills from Trade section also. 13 skills total, go through them all and check what each does and if it could help you or not.

One-time activation charge ... everyone has to pay it.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Not 100% true Velicitia, people who subscribe from trial to a paid account using the ingame PLEX don't pay the 5$ fee.
But as that are really really few people it's safe to say that almost everybody has paid that fee.

TLDR for trading skills

Trading
Margin Trading
Procurement
Accounting
Day Trading
Visibility
Marketing

Any one can do trading right off the bat these make it easier and more effective.

No one ship is industry specific. Technically the Primae is supposed support planet PI but I nor any one else that has a **** ton of planets ever use them for that or any other purpose these days. Haulers I guess are helpful, IE the cargo ships for each of the races.
