Ok, first off this was never true. And it has only become less true over time as you guys have lost significance. Your annual kills per user are laughably small. I won't deny that for the contracts you get you do a decent job at them, but your contracts are as irrelevant as you are in the wider world of eve.

And I'm not just pointing this out to be a ****, even if that's part of it. The issue is that you are an anachronism, and so is your platform. You say that war dec mechanics and high sec PVP desperately need attention and deserve a significant allocation of resources. If I was someone who desperately needed high sec pvp to come back to reinvigorate my relevance I too would support this platform.

But as someone who does not have a myopic view of the game I can appreciate that high sec war-dec mechanics, while broken, do not really represent a serious goal that will have a significant effect on the larger eve game playing field, especially when considered alongside the desperate need for re balancing that exists in low-sec, the tremendous opportunities for revitalization of sovereignty mechanics, and the wide ranging and potentially devastating results that a null-sec "farms and fields" re balance could bring.

Your focus on high sec, particularly the most self-serving side of high sec, war dec mechanics, only goes to show your inability to understand the comprehensive picture of EvE as it stands, which makes me very concerned about any influence you may even have on the CSM. Beyond a handful of low-hanging fruit (which, by the way would fix the vast majority of the problems), there is no real need to devote significant mechanics to High Sec Wardecs, beyond your own need to redefine your withered relevance.

Although I do agree with your statements on NPC null sec.

First off, I respect your opinion on the matter since it is your right express it. Not to mention the fact that you present your argument in an intelligent way that can actually be read.

He is not setting his focus on HISEC war dec's because of how it effects Noir. He is doing so because he believes there is a large chunk of the player base that feels the same way. Whether or not this is true remains to be seen in the vote count.

The entire point of the CSM is to champion causes that you feel benefit the game as a whole, and not how it effects your own corp or alliance. If the majority of our contracts were in HISEC, then yes I would readily agree with your opinion that Alek is short sighted, or myopic in his argument on the issue.

While we do take HISEC contracts, we aren't very fond of them. Thankfully, there is plenty of non empire work out there, and repeat clients keep us busy in that regard.

Of our last 100 contracts,
41 were in 0.0
27 were in LOWSEC
32 were in HISEC

This at least means that Alek understands the dynamics that exist within EVE on all three fronts. And when it comes to understanding SOV, he at least maintains a basic knowledge of the essentials due to the (albeit short) period that Noir held SOV.

EDIT: I agree on the revitalization of lowsec though.

::Insert pony-based haters gonna hate .gif:: For being such irrelevant mercs, PL sure goes out of their way to be mad at us.

Regardless of what I or Hellkyte or anyone else thinks about whether war decs DESERVE dev resources, these resources are already allocated. A change to wardecs and EVE's aggression code (plus FW fixes) are the centerpieces of the upcoming Summer expansion (Inferno). All I'm saying is that the player base should get the best, balanced, accessible, and fun war dec system those dev resources can get us.

Once that's in the books, I look forward to making sure small sov holding alliances, NPC 0.0 residents, and 0.0 roamers have their interests represented during the sov revamp. I agree with the farms and fields model you support Hell, and have said so at every occasion. I just want to make sure those farms and fields aren't just plantations of the large power blocs, but also work for people trying to break in at a smaller level or just cause some trouble for everyone else.

On top of all that, I hope to lay the groundwork for CCP to take a similar revamp approach to lowsec, giving it a distinct gameplay experience that both addresses the needs of current residents and expands the population for those residents to interact with. The buffs to FW coming in Inferno are extremely important, but I don't think they are the silver bullet to improve lowsec.

Alek,

Best of luck! I really hope you made it to the CSM 7!

CCP needs to hear from someone with you experiences and views to finally sort of some of the mess with war, aggression mechanics and other key elements of combat in Eve that you understand so well!

Yeah, I've got my fingers crossed for you, too, man. Good luck.

Whether or not you win the game matters not.  It's if you bought it.

Congratulations Alekseyev!

For some time, I was leaning towards voting for Elise, but ended up giving my votes to you. You understand many aspects of the game, you stood up for small gang PvP on a scale I can relate to quite easily, and you have the back of smaller alliances that want to have a real shot at taking sov in nullsec. In all honesty, even though I love the glamour of it, I'm still too green to relate realistically to PvP with supercap ships, cynos, and flawless execution etc, maybe one day Lol Blink, but certainly not yet. I'm at the stage where a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. P

This year, you're on the shadow CSM, next year I'm hoping you make it further up. Please carry on working to that goal, since you seem to have built some interesting connections during your campaign. I hope that CCP and the upper CSM hear you out on smaller alliances establishing themselves in sov space, improvements/changes to lowsec and nullsec mechanics, changes to warfare mechanics, and on anything regarding carefree small gang PvP. Cool

You've done very well.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the amazing amount of effort and support that made this campaign a success. You guys are amazing and I will not let you down Cool

We have a great team on the CSM this year. It's fitting that in a time where every old feature, ship, and mechanic could potentially be on the patching bloc we have one of the most diverse and star studded councils in history. I'm honored to be a part of it, and the thanks for that goes to you guys.
