Just when I thought the 'stupid' ceiling of Eve has been reached, someone gets in his rifter and crashes right through it, bringing it to new, even greater heights.

Got a mail forwarded from my CEO, looks like I will be getting kicked out of Brick.....

i dont know much about your corp other than you guys are kinda big im sending you this message just to let you know about Darius III and how he is really giving your corp a bad name . i dont know weather you care being so big and all but darrus III is scaming people for csm votes and upsetting people i dont know if you are realling trying to run for the csm but he is really giving you bad press and prob hurting your corp more tha he is helping. normally i wouldnt care but after he scams a person for a vote he then taunts them and makes fun of them just to let you know i will no longer be posting about darius its not worth my time and i have nothing aggenist your corp or alliance so i will just let you know and let you handel it internally if you wish or not i leave it in your hands

Is there any proof that he actually voted for you? Maybe he is trying to scam D3 for a plex.

2. Can you prove that Quinones actually voted for D3. Until I see concrete proof that the vote was actually put in for D3 I think this guy is crying to attempt to extort a free plex from a reputable CSM member.

To play devil's advocate...where is the justification for kicking out a member of the CSM for scamming, when in fact, scaming is part of the game that CCP allows?

He's just playing EvE by his own design. Granted, it might not be one you agree with or condone, but until CCP outright says, 'no member of the CSM may scam other players,' I guess everyone else will just have to HTFU and not fall for such obvious cases.

1: Yep. Hence if I was crafting such a scam, I'd get my alt (or a friend or mine) to do the advertising for me, so I can say "Oh! That's an alt of yours! You have no 500mpa rated concrete proof that this was me! I am flabbergasted by your allegations! Oh my, this is just shocking!"

2: Leave your technicalities at the door my friend. D3 has already (in his own words) admitted to the scam. He's admitted it in this very thread as well through his lack of objection. We don't need someone with a degree in Internet Gaming Law to throw in objections to a point which was a beaten horse pages ago. To the receiver of promised PLEX, a vote has no real cost to them. It's not a measurement of ISK, or a measurement or serious time. It takes only a few moments to vote for someone.

3: That's nice. People think you're an idiot too. Enjoy the day, and take criticism with some stride fella.


There would be no easier way to scam someone than be in the CSM.

"Hey, I'm that CSM guy who does trusted CSM stuff. We're testing a new item that will sell for around 2b, but CCP is getting us to sell it for 1b to people of our choice to test it out before the next patch."

"Hey I'm from the CSM. The prices of *x* or *y* will change because of *these* reasons in *next* patch." (Watch the market fall/raise in favour of the CSM (even if only temporary, so he can get what he wants.)

Does CCP really want people who are capable of this type of stuff to be put in a trusted position such as CSM? With power comes responsibility.

I too was almost a victim of this scam, but after talking to D3 with his silver tongue slowly caressing my sensitive earlobe my perspective on eve was, fresh, renewed. You could say I felt like a Nubile, feeling that gentle lover's first touch. My voting fingers grew erect at the though of this man for CSM again. Slowly, gently, lovingly I moved my mouse to select his vote button. I then dragged my fingers over my keyboard with a feather touch to the enter key. Circling it a few times I then thrust it onto the key, the expression of my love pouring out into the CCP Dev's server with my loud confirming cry of "O DARIUS". After that, he closed the convo window, with a gentle loving goodbye and a thank you.

My first voting experience was magical, all because of this wonderful man, my first....in the CSM vote. You can't be scammed by a man like that, you just let it happen and enjoy it.

Now to get a towel and a shower.

I think IfF I were to say I have insider knowledge, that may be bannable. Not in a hurry to try it out. Thats not the sort of scam that interests me in the slightest. I dont usually scam for money or kills, I just scam for the fun and tears..

As to why do I troll them after the fact, to get tears and threads. The threads net me more votes, and tears are their own reward. But I am not vindictive generally. The election season has special rules of engagement. See below for other reason I want more threads.

None of these threads are by me/my alts. I am surprised there arent more this year. Last year there were 15? 20? all in like three days.

Darius III has my three votes for CSM. I believe he has a strong desire to run and work as CSM. He has great representation within the EVE Community, and shows his willingness to help those in need. Besides, do you really want Mittanni or whoever to run as CSM to nerf Titan tracking because they keep throwing high sig radius ships into them? :P Those guys are only running for personal gain. Darius III is running for bettering EVE Online and the EVE Community. He's the real deal.

I lol'd. At first, anyway.

I like a good scam as much as the next guy, but I think the running for CSM should be kept away from the usual eve crap. People shouldn't be getting votes based on their preferred form of entertainment ("Vote for Obama, he likes James Bond movies!") but by what they actually plan to DO. Further, tricking people into voting for you skews the system in your favor. The CSM should not be part of the usual "whatever it takes to win/get tears/get my **** hard" EVE meta.
