I think the best thing I can do is to pretend that this "blog" never happened and to wait for the actual information. After all, I have 18 days left on this, my last account. That's plenty of time for some actual information to appear.

No need to advise poor Zulu, who has quite clearly had a gun to his head when he wrote this blog, to kill himself.

Plenty of time to run the real blog past the CSM.

"We have been listening to the players" and in the end they tell us no matter what gosa we give them most will stick around while we play with the new shiny of vampires and game consoles!

What a bizzare dev blog! Yet another content free promise of the "right" awesomeness of which detalis will be shared "soon" that can only end up dissappointing the community.

So some reality checks, since CCP hasn't been working on anything related to what the player base has been calling for and have let themselves focus on the new shiny nothing can happen good for us any time soon, Why, serious development takes time. So we are either going to be promised awesomeness "soon", never to come if history is any indication or we will get slapped together crap to try and placate us.

If there really was something interesting coming from this awakening at CCP we could at least now have gotten a 30K foot view of what is on the table, not a link to another older dev blog with some teasy "wait for it!" happy words. Clearly something was shared with the CSM and even if not everything was final we could have at least been given an overview of the stuff under consideration.

CCP, there is no "soon", there is do or do not.

Crap expansion me once, shame on you, crap expansion me twice, shame on me!

you bastage, that was the joke i was going to make.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

This is how I read the blog:

Quote:
Hi guys.

Since you got angry with us we have been thinking about what we did wrong.
We normally don't that.
See look at this other blog, it shows we have been listening to you.
We have lots more I swear, but we are scared that if we can't deliver what we say we will you might get angry again.
Please guys we really are trying.

This is one of the defining moments where we look at what you do and less of what you say. (Of course, you said very little and did even less.)

Unless you've got your head stuck in the sand (evidence suggests this is very probable) then you know what you have to do, CCP. Stop blowing snow up our asses and do it.

Whether or not you win the game matters not.  It's if you bought it.

Why should this have been run by the CSM? There is nothing. Nothing to discuss.

I for one, applaud the new stance to apply the formerly presented Responsible Disclosure approach for security bugs to the Dev Blog and News items.

Can we really call it a "Dev Blog"?

It's more like a quick note to let us know that some time in the future they may or may not tell us something of substance. Then, they may or may not act on the things, that they may or may not have told us.

You need to fix and improve the UNIVERSE of EVE - people have to want to have fun and play in the game - in Null Sec exploring and redefining what it means to be in this SCI FI universe.

The issue right now is that we're facing a game that can be amazing, modern and exquisite. The challenge is to make EVE feel big, and fun - redefining how things like Starbases work, what they're for, improving our ability to mold our galaxy beyond some resources and some annoying starbases to manage.

Time to make EVE excellent - including the WiS elements. I don't think the challenges are that difficult to face down - or the resources that overwhelming to accomplish what EVE currently needs. If Art is the major bottleneck, that isn't what is being asked for - taking the wealth of art already existing can make it possible.

There are certainly "moments that define history"

This wasn't one of them.

Sadly I am not suprised by this devblog.

I guess in another three months we will have another "special sumit" where CCP promise to listen and proceed to do whatever they want.

Short devblog with 99% information and facts is better than long blog with 99% of junk pagaged to beautiful box :)

Could have been worse.

At least they didn't announce that the new Eve font will cost Aurum.
