What exactly is the point of this? A very expensive cyno that can laugh at bubbles? If so, you've probably succeeded. Then again, the 20 covops frigates you could buy for the same price would probably get through as well.

The point of it is to add more raw meat to our black-ops fleet. This way when the main fleet engages, we do not have to sit and watch because SB's main purpose is X>Battleship

Using T3's instead of widow's, redeemers etc we can get more meat in our fleets for less ISK than a fully fitt Black-ops BS

So if you're adding to a fleet that already contains blackops ships, why bother with the interdiction nullifier? What's the point of the probe launcher? Why is there a regular cyno instead of a covert one?

It seems you want a ship that does everything. This fit seems to do everything poorly. If you're doing a fleet setting, why not bring as many blackops as you can afford, some covert recons for the ewar, some covops frigs for getting your cyno in, and some DPS Tengus that don't suck.

Or you bring some recons for painters and webs, and lots of stealthbombers.

We only have 2 Black-ops that we are permitted to use, so the interdiction nul is for when we do not have access to them. Basically we are trying to build a fleet witch can fulfill multiple roles within a certain ship area. Cruisers are not so small and squishy that they pop too easily, but they also do not cost a metric f*** tonne.

The probe launcher is again, there for the multi-role job needed.

We do not want a ship that does everything, just to be able to do DECENT dmg, along with the cov-cloak. That is why we are looking at the tengu. We have the recons for the ewar already. We have SB's for purposely needed cyno's. But when we are patrolling, we need to have the ability to call in the caps if we spot the hostile fleet.

I know the Tengu will suck as a direct confrontation ship. But the point is to only attack when the main fleet arrives, when the logi can rep us :/

anyway thanks for the input so far

Yeah, there's too much going on in that fit :) Would you have normal shield carriers on standby the cyno can make sense but then you'd want more EHP on your Tengu as you'll be sutck for a while. Also, you can't cyno cap ships into someone's deadspace :P

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

Last time I checked, a pod could passive tank a 3 launcher tengu with the covops sub fitted Big smile

The point of a T3 is you can customise it to fit the job, just change the fit depending on what you need. This fit would work to cyno in a blops fleet, but it wont kill much. I think you can fit 5 launchers on with covops and augmented cap resevoir, which is lots more dps.

cov ops Tengu has crap dps. Can still fit a beastly tank, though. So for having it as your standard cyno bird, its not that bad an idea. Carriers can jump in and rep the Tengu whilst pounding on enemies with fighters.

As for the probe launcher, I wouldn't bother with it. Cov ops frigs do that far better.

Can a Legion be fit for neuting and covert ops? That might be useful.

Except for the itsy bitsy detail that you cannot use a covert cyno on a Tengu and that blops fleets tend to love covert cynos...

But it's true a Blops can still use a regular cyno just... a little more dangerous is all.
