I have been using the new launcher for a couple days now and since the patch about an hour ago I have a new issue. I run the launcher and it takes me to the login screen like normal. It pops up the new patch required so I click ok and it installs in the login screen (normal.) Then it takes my to the update install window and install like normal. After the install, the launcher pops up and says client is ready. I click play and it goes to the login screen which pops up a required patch (the same.) The process loops infinately. Any work arounds?

(Edit) I am running the repair tool. Had "220mb" to repair. Finished first run and failed at applying about 40%. It auto started a second run. Currently in second run.

(Edit 2) Deleting "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\Test\res\audio\39406690.ogg"
Removing folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\Test\res\audio\Japanese"
Deleting folder: "C:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE"
Complete
Total Runtime: 1h51m02s

Result of the repair. Ran the launcher, now it says version .61 however I am still stuck in this ******* patch loop. It keeps saying I need a new patch but it instantly installs and runs the launcher again. When the client comes up, says I need the patch and install again. What the ****.

What short cut are you using to launch sisi?

If you are using the exe in the main folder and have it directed at "/server:Singularity"

go in and delete the launcher cache folder to see if that clears up the cycling. after you run the launcher from your short cut.

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

See you around the universe.

Clearing the cache appears to have worked. However server status is now "unknown" instead of "incorrect protocol." Good news is I was not prompted to update and the update occured in the initial launcher window. I will give the server an hour and check again. May be down at the moment.

I have a similar loop now, and an even lower opinion of this "new launcher" and the STUPID way it was forced down our throats. Nothing like making a parallel path to debug stuff eh CCP? Nah all your stuff works perfect the first time.

For the last Mass Test, I never did get that pos launcher to work and take me to SISI with settings intact. After multiple attempts, I wiped out everything SISI and decided to wait until another Mass Test. Not much better....

So I follow the instructions per the latest news post on billboards, create a new folder, copy over to it, make a shortcut pointed at sisi. That's the last time anything works as expected.

So EVE starts up, goes to Singularity, notices the incompatible protocol, and starts the patch sequence. It all goes fine, and the new whizbang, full of advertising (and other offal) launcher starts up looking all shiny, and immediately takes me to Tranquility.

Over and OVer to tranq, with no settings either. Wiping out the cache (using this launcher) gives the restart message, and wow, I'm back to tranquility.

If this doesn't get solved soon, I'm making a YouTube movie to demonstrate the endless loop....

Ever since this new launcher came out, I have had nothing but day in and day out ******* problems. First was the day the new launcher came out. It took me 3 days to successfully get it to work. Then I get a failure to update a hundred fuckin times till I did a serious of repairs and patches which took another 2 days. Now I got this patch loop error which I recently thought was resolved by clearing the cache but once that was done and sisi login loaded up, there is a new patch that fragmented my data saying I needed another update. Which then failed halfway through the launcher. Now I ran the repair which autoran 3 times, and the launcher is doing another ******* update, for 147.64mb. I can't leave my computer because I found out that if my computer sleeps at any time during the process, it fails and fragments my data, which requires another repair. This is such ******* bull ****. I am in Afghanistan, and first off internet sucks ass as is. It takes me around 2 hours to me download a 150mb patch which seems to come out every other day, but I can deal with that. Second, TQ has too many people on it to even play in null sec with video setting at lowest, I only log in to update skills which takes around 15-20 minutes. SiSi is my EVE source out here. Few players, hardly any lag, all the pvp I can handle, and I can help out the community if I spot a bug. However, it drives me ******* insane when I have to spend 2-5 (days) worth of free time a week in troubleshooting and amature programing to UNFUCK this mess.

Yay, that Youtube comment must have done it.

After just ignoring the crap on the wiki about how to do it, I got the SISILauncher, that code has be wonderful for the last year, and it still works fine. Run the SISILauncher only, ignore that junk about a shortcut with server=sisi blah blah

SISILauncher fixes up everything, starts the ad-heavy 'new' launcher and finally back on the Test Server.

I know there are enough pissed off players that follow the "Instructions" and never get to SISI to finish burning down the monument in Jita. Maybe CCP should put the brewskis down for awhile and actually try it themselves, starting from scratch. You know, the stuff considered customer satisfaction everywhere else....

I have been using the Launcher shortcut and getting on SiSi (intermitent) while between frags on the data since I got the launcher to work the first time. These are compounding issues I am having and, given the fact I have not had them at all since before the new launcher, must be attributed to that piece of ****. CCP needs to stop trying to be like WoW. WoW sucks ass and that is why I play EVE. I have said in another thread about the new names for the modules, (unrelated topic) CCP is trying to make this game too idiot proof. When you make a game so simple to the point a 10 year old can understand it, that is all who will play. Refer to my post in the "Keep up the good work CCP" thread here in the test forums for the full rant.

I take that to mean the issue has gone away?

Might the launcher copying a load of files into the Program Files in the user virtual store directory have something to do with this.

I would suspect that the repair tool will be updating the real program directory, which will end up having different versions of the files than the launcher has duplicated....

Yes, for the moment. Have had no issues with the 1.02 version launcher.
