Hiya guys, can anyone give me a ship that would give me reasonable iskies/hour in angels space that doesnt cost billions?

I'd prefer to spend less than 500m on the ship, but I don't want to use a maelstrom. I can fly anything sub-t2 BS except loki/proteus... I've heard that sleipnir probably wont have dps for higher bs's, and tbh fitting one well enough to tank them would cost as much as a dual small repper tengu (about 1b), which is the sort of cost I'm trying to avoid.

I don't have t2 sentries, otherwise I would suggest ishtar or gila?... I have t2 heavies however.

Any help/advice is appreciated. I have no experience with the nullsec instant sites and I don't want to shell out for the sort of ships (marauders ++) that corp mates seem to use. Would like something functional to work until then.

Um... Kill BS rats in the belts with a hound.

High: launchers, covert ops cloak, and an auto cannon (helps take out frigs that may scram u.)
Mids: medium shield extender, Target painter, afterburner (no mwd,you want to speed tank)
Lows: ballistic control, nano or any fitting mods u need.
Rigs: shield resist, polycarbs, or loading bat accelorator.

Use faction or t1 ammo (t1 is cheaper but less dps)

This ship setup is around 30 mil in high sec, possibly more in nul. Still, you can clear belt rats while working towards a better ship. You can cloak and run if needed, and if lost, won't hurt your wallet as much.

Edit: angels, not blood raider so you want a hound. Sorry. Still, same slot layout, just uses explosive damage.

cheers for the response, but I'm fairly sure there is some middle ground between a 30m isk sb and a 1b isk (minimum) tengu/marauder/machariel...

lol, I knew Salazar was going to post this. Explore for fun, don't try to turn it into ISK/h (since the standard deviation is so high that any 'average' is pretty much meaningless).

Why not a raven? It has a large enough drone bay to for a flight of small and medium drones. The tank is already biased towards resisting explosive damage, and the ship bonuses are not based on missile type, letting you use explosive damage cruise missiles.

lows would be DC II, balistic controls, and fitting/power mods.
Mods would include afterburner, Target painter, shield extenders, and an invulnerable field. Or maybe an active shield tank.
Highs, cruise launchers. I think you can do 6 and still squeeze in a salvager and tractor beam.
Rigs would be cap, shield, or missile.

Net cost would probably be under 200 mil, but should do the trick.

Heh, yeah, I think the OP was using it in very general terms though. Calculating average isk/hour in exploration obviously has a massive margin of error, and isn't a lot of use unless you're trying to predict how much you'll make in the next 100 hours you play the game...

...BUT, when using it as a general term you can still pretty much say "more" or "less" with certainty. For example I don't have any idea how much isk/hour I make running blood complexes, but I could make a pretty convincing argument that it's more than I'd make running incursion or clearing C3s.

tl;dr Salazar is an angry, angry man and should stop flaming newbies over semantics and begin flaming them for expecting decent isk/hour in anoms when they don't want to fly a decent ship.

Oh yeah, also the OP said instant sites. So I'm guessing he meant anoms, so the entire isk/hour thing, and my rant, was completely pointless. Fuuuuuuuuu OP.

Just because the Mael looks like a beaten dog doesnt mean you shouldn;t use it. If you REALLY dont like it you can use the lospdied birdy with torpedos and an AB+TP

The sleipnir works just fine. The main thing is to take out high DPS ships first and keep moving to mitigate dmg. Only really expensive gear you'd need is the shield booster and the shield boost amp. You can build a sleipnir capable of doing anything 8/10 and below for under 500 mil.

Rattlesnake is another good choice for the cheap as the hull and fittings together would still be under 500 mil, and you can achieve a MUCH higher tank, but it's a totally different play style and a big beast of a ship that takes forever to align.

An Ishtar/Gila *could* work, but it would gimp your DPS application by a large margin since the 500 DPS from heavies would be effectively hitting like a 200 DPS drake including flight time. You also would not be able to kill the overseer in anything higher then a 5/10.

Cheers for the responses. My bad in OP I was referring to the instant sites in 0.0 (sanctums, havens etc etc) and not exploration plexes.

I actually settled on a tengu fit pretty close to the one listed above: 1 less explo hardener, 1 extra small shield booster. still cap stable otherwise essentially the same.
