I've been looking for an answer to this and can't find anything. Is there a means to track down a POS that a corp owns? Which system it might be in, and which moon it might be at?

Yes there is.

We call it scouting. Odd I know, an answer that requires you to play the game and fly a ship instead of click a button or toon and have something else do the work.

Don't ask about Italics, just tilt your head.

I see..... do others normally find your snotty tone helpful? Just wondering. Perhaps you should remember that not everyone has been playing eve for years.

For anyone else, the issue is that eve is fairly large. Other than having to visit every moon, at every planet, in every system throughout eve all I want to know is if there is a means to narrow it down. If like the other individual, all you want to do is be a creep please don't bother. Thanks.

If the corp that you've decced has half-a-brain™ it will be nigh-on impossible for you to find their POS(es). If your corp had half-a-brain™ you'd have located the POS(es) before you hit them with a wardec.

In their shoes I am careful that only 'invisible' corp members (no kills / deaths, no postings anywhere, no identifiable corp roles etc) work at our hisec POSes. Similarly I virtually never go to any of them myself. That way it's very unlikely that a finder agent can be used to work out where they are. Early on I'd just relocate to somewhere else entirely for the entire wardec, and now that most of my time is in w-space the wardecs aren't a big hassle.
Similarly my hisec POSes are quite a long, long way away from my areas of hisec operations, and my haulers are in NPC-corps. That way it's tough for an aggressor to extrapolate, from where they may be able to see any of us doing stuff, to get an idea of where our POSes are.

The tools that are available to you include:
- Google to find any info about their members and where they hangout (corp / alliance forums, killboards, forum posts etc).
- Locator agents to check where some of their ppl hangout.
- Footslogging … sending people to look around and even scan systems that you're suspicious of.
- Hiring others to do the groundwork for you.
- Infiltration, bribery, coercion, and corruption. A newish member with low scruples might spill and bail when a billion isk is waved in their direction.

The main tool, tho, that you seem to have missed is "prior preparation", for it is this mainly that prevents those other three Ps.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Much appreciated! We didn't Dec a corp though. They Dec'ed us. Through some investigation of members we know are in the corp (Corp B), we know they came from another corp we've seen around (Corp A). Appears as if a portion of Corp A left to form Corp B and within a few days Dec'ed us. It was a bit of a surprise, so its not like we really had an opportunity to do the scouting.

Now that we're Dec'ed though, we want to carry out a little reprisal against Corp A and we suspect they have at least one tower somewhere. All I was looking for was a way to narrow down and help us start the search before we Dec'ed them. Your logic makes a lot of sense and I greatly appreciate you passing it along.

If it is in Domain or Kador, we have a decent shot at finding it. We have surveyed about 1/2 of Domain and will finish sometime in the next month or two. Kador is somewhat behind, probably a couple more months. Ofc, that is a small portion of Eve, but what can you do? Anyway, the towers change slowly, so our data will decay relatively slowly, too.

Eventually, we may start selling data, but too sparse atm.

Good luck then. Same tools apply, of course, although a lot of the prior preparation stuff flies out the window.

Yes they do, as while you might not like the tone. The advise I gave was truly the only thing you can do. Scout, If you want a place to start. Check their members home base station for an office.

Offices = Remote BPO research = POS in Region.

Sure offices have other uses, and could be other offices else where, but I just narrowed it down.

I believe thats what you asked for.

Now time for you to log on nuetral alt, get into Covert ops ship and set forth on the boring scout train.

Don't ask about Italics, just tilt your head.

You know the system with a sec status below 0.8 where your locators say that one guy has been sitting in space for hours but he isn't mining or running missions? That is where the POS is.

Might be, but we are damn careful about our POS. We don't even enter the system to queue up the research jobs, and we generally travel to and from the tower region via JC.

lol I even do remote bpo research and it never occurred to me to search for poses by searching for offices first.

This. Too many people looking for a button to click rather than working to get something/somewhere... Quit being lazy, people.

Look for offices

Look up their members on EVEWho, and run locator agents on them. They would probably keep an alt close to it for fueling, POS gunning, research etc.
