if they have any common sense they'll give it out as an expansion for free like they always do for PC players who put up with their b.s.

Well if it's F2P on the PS3, why wouldn't it be F2P for the PC?

You know what would REALLY tick me off?

Dust releases for PS3. And it's good. Oh, so good.

I break down, and drop $250 on a PS3.

A day later CCP announces Dust is coming to PC in less than a month.

Grrrr....

If they're going to port it to PC is certain conditions are met, I hope they tell us sooner rather than later.

Because CCP have an insane marketing department that the management actually listens to.

This. :)

I will buy Dust if it comes out on PC.

I may or may not evaluate finances and see if the funding is there for exploring another dead-end console purchase, but I find it highly unlikely. I know me, I'm pretty opinionated and a hard-ass about money. :)

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Was that an interview for the new ADD "it´s got electrolytes" generation?

About 5 sentences and that´s it? What?

Oh well, at least it seems to be enough for the usual EVE "PVP" thread. Pirate

1. Not for all players. Only those that invest in a mouse and keyboard.

A USB keyboard & mouse costs what? $10? $12?

They will put mouse and keyboard support in because they are literally idiots.

It is really not a good idea to place players with two wildly different control schemes competeing against each other. The game as a whole would be better if the playing fields were as level as possible.

DUST is already confirmed to be a free download, they decided the $20 "deposit" was confusing the hell out of people.

If someone is playing DUST rather than $GENERIC_FPS it's becaus of the persistent and social aspects of the game. I keyboard is pretty much mandatory for that side.

Seriously, is it really worth bawwing about a cheap USB KB&M?

THREAD DERAILMENT INCOMING!
Quote:
We didn't let CCP escape without snagging a couple of nuggets about EVE and World of Darkness. As far as EVE is concerned, CCP's development focus this year is on "flying in space" (contrasted with "walking in stations"). World of Darkness, meanwhile, is not on hold as rumored. In fact, a "rather large" team of 60 devs is focused on bringing the World of Darkness to light.

From the same article. Let the rage begin... Roll

I say good for you CCP! I may never actually play WoD. My wife will. But I hope it makes you all tons and tons of green stuff!

On the subject at hand...I have always figured that a PC version is coming. It is just a matter of time. Making it a PS3 exclusive, even if only initially, is just a way to get more of the console players hooked and make money. It is a logical and smart business decision.

Bounties for all! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2279821#post2279821

Well yeah, there's a 1-year exclusivity deal with Sony. So if it launches at fanfest this year, then it can be available on the PC no sooner than 12 months after that.

PS3 FPS games dont last 1 year. If this is true, then there will be loads of Dust/Eve integration for the first two, maybe three months, before the Dust population tails off massively to insignificant levels. Opening it up to the PC at least within the first month of release will make the population of Dust players last far, far longer - the communities that still play games more than a year or two old are almost exclusively PC gamers, and if Dust is any good, there is a good chance that a PC based Dust community will last for years to come, which is essential for the Dust/Eve integration to work. If there are only 10k players total who still play Dust after 1 year, then the whole thing will have just been a cash grab, and us Eve players will be back where we started - perhaps with another alt account for Dust, rather than just the four you would otherwise have for Eve.

It unbalances game play just by the hardware, giving one side an undeniable advantage making it patently unfair. While you could argue that EVE is an unfair game, a console FPS isn't the game where you want people having a hugely distinct advantage over each other. You play with the same controllers, on the same console with the same technical specs as everybody else has.

EVE is a cold harsh universe! You should have bought a gaming PC with a mouse and keyboard you ******* noob!

yes and buying a USB kboard + mouse is such an expensive venture!

I mean, you can't get like 2 or 3 of those for the price of a PS3 controller, or even re-use the ones you have plugged in on your desktop no siree!
