Ok thanks. I've tried this but nothing worked. So I tried to download the free trial with steam to see if the problem was still here and it was. So I used the hard way, I've formated my harddrive and reinstall windows. Now the game works perfectly. The Windows install i had done was probably corrupted, something about directx or microsoft frameworks.

Thanks for all!

My eve client splash appears, and then nothing ... Im getting extremely fed up with the BS lately - All I want to do is play -.-

As for the repair tool ... it has never worked for me.

The log server says cant open or w.e blue.dll ... ?

Really wish you could change skills and what not via eve gate.

Getting the same error. Client crash during slpashscreen. Was fine yesterday.

  • Repair says client is fine.
  • Tried deleting cache
  • Tried running as admin
  • Have latest DX version

I've uploaded the crash dump and logserver workspace, hope this helps.

this isn't really a bug but it's something i hate very much and want to change.

when you install eve correctly using the installer, the installer handles installing directx etc. when you copy the client to a clean OS odds are you don't have the correct version of directx installed.

when we start he internal client it does the check for us and installs directx if needed and i want to change the release client to work in the same way rather than letting the installer handle it. i'm unsure right now if it's planned to have the launcher handle it, would make sense i guess but if its not planned then i might just make the change to allow the client to install directx.

more on this soon i hope.

Having just encountered this issue (moved my eve folder over after a Windows reinstall), this thread just saved the day.

Would it be possible to have the repair tool check for the status of DirectX and warn the user? I only found this thread by googling a logserver result, which isn't all that explanatory to someone who has never done programming.
