which one? i have 15 pcs at the moment though only 6 are capable of running eve online at the moment.

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

8 to 32Gb if you're using 64b pro versions of win, pinguin <3
Where did you pull that 6GB number from? As mentioned multiple times in this thread a 32Bit OS can use maximum of less than 4 GB RAM. Then again a 32bit program (which EVE is) can only use up to 2GB even running on a 64bit OS
Why 8 to 32GB only for Pro-versions of Windows? My Win7 64bit Home Edition does fine with 8

Those are only basics, not how to or what to. If you want the perfect machine to keep for 4/5 years with minimum invest changes every 2 year you need to hit top stuff witch is regularly around 6 to 8 thousand $ / €
I strongly disagree here. You don't buy the fastest machine available to be safe for the next years. You do buy one that meets your demand
Planning for more than 2 years ahead in terms of computers is something that big corporations should do, but not home users

hem, my crap stuff turns around 3.4Ghz (Over Clocked of course), 12Gb 1600 DDR3 but has a single GC waiting next series to come out (after this summer) and I'll put in this babe 2 hot last tech GC's. 2 HD's, 1x vista 32 and 1x win7 ultimate 64b
Why would you want Vista _and_ Win7 on the same machine? I'd call it ok to have XP and 7 for some rare software compatibility issues that one may have, but not Vista and 7 because a) Vista is rather crappy and b) probably would have the same issue as Win7 compatibility-wise.

All these CPUs running at stock speeds makes me a sad capsuleer, particularly the ones running under 3.4 GHz. In EVE (and many other games) getting the CPU speeds over 3.2-3.4 GHz actually yields pretty nice gains in minimum FPS and smooths out gameplay considerably. Of course this won't be the case for every system, but often the CPU is a fairly big bottleneck.

I play on my hackintosh primarily -- i5 2500k, 16GB, 560 ti. Also play some on my mid-2010 Macbook Pro.

I use OS X for 2 reasons:
1) Final Cut Pro
2) I like it

Best OS of course is Windows 3.1 for Eve although I almost considered OS/2 or MACH... I miss DOS 6.2 though
