Us old players are safe money. So they can take the yacht and dream vacation, or they can see whats in the box.

Perhaps but you are not a ccp programmar or a ccp marketing manager you saying this because of your own view you can or never know what the stats are if the are realy old eve players stay or leave you will never know. Let me say this i agree on my point on any answers but CCP is the law for eve online even if you think you can change it you have it wrong, presidents do the same, some bad some good.

So "mature Adults" shouldn't complain?

CCP keeps trying to dumb the game down in order to make more money. That effect will likely upset a lot of older gamers who put in the effort only to find it was wasted. Oops
Expecting them not to have an opinion about it in a "discussion forum" is kind of like saying
"Here'e the keys to the car son, but you aren't allowed to drive it, you might do something unsafe...."

So by pointing out that "5 people" weren't mature enough to be mature, how did you add to the thread? Might want to take a look at your own attitude. Intelligent people generally don't go around pointing fingers at other people, they post their opinion and move on...

Actually, my statement isn't really a push in either direction, its a statement of their choices. They can go with the safe money old player based or they can take a gamble, make moves that alienate the vets, and hope that it attracts new players.

Oh, wait, they already did that and nearly lost everything with Incarna.

If you look, they held off on changing course or even saying anything til it became clear that not only did taking the game in a bold new direction drive off their existing player base, it failed to get new players.

Fix the game, then add new stuff, in that order. The game is rather broken now because they spent years adding new stuff without fixing the old, and thats why we want a stop on all new stuff. CCP broke the game once already because of :change:

Just because they hinted at ship tiers being removed doesn't exonerate the skill changes from being ill-conceived and worthless.

As for ship tiers, CCP has no problems promising you everything and then walking away to chase something else shiny. Wait until you see it.

Mature adults can complain but the complaints should be based upon facts. People are STILL complaining about these changes making them have to train things up that they can already fly today despite CCP stating multiple times that this would not be the case.

We have a couple of nimrods in here complaining about BSV or Assauly Ship V or whatever. Tough. You have it. You will always have it and I don't think you should be 'reimbursed' for that.

I'm training Gal BS V right now and am not changing that. It's good to have in it's own right.
I'm an older player and like this change so you don't speak for me. There is nothing here that is dumbing down anything.
There is going to be more variety and a lot more cap explosions. Nothing bad there in my opinion.

They didn't hint at them being removed. They said that they were going to be removed.

How are the skill changes ill-conceived and worthless exactly? Because you say so?
Because you are mad?

Nope. Sorry

The *ONLY* reason why people are complaining about these changes are because they want other people to suffer the same as they have suffered.

I.E. "If I had to train for Battleships V to fly a capital, then everyone else should too!"

Of course, *I* could go along the same lines and say:
"If I had to set alarm clocks so that I could change my skill training in the middle of the night, then everyone else should too!"
"If I had to slowboat 15km to the gate before I could jump, then everyone else should too!"
"If I had to wait to win the T2 lottery in order to build T2 ships/modules, then everyone else should too!"
"If I had to spend 20 million ISK on a Cap Recharger II, then everyone else should too!"
"If I had to mine in a battleship, then everyone else should too!"

so on and so forth.

EVE changes. Adapt or die.

There's always going to be people that find something to rant on about.

Just learn to filter most of it out. But occasionally a mass collective ranting
does serve it's purpose.

As people agree on something you can bet there's atleast that same
amount of people who each have a different reason to disagree on it.

The biggest obstacle you'll encounter doing anything is yourself.

How to handle the BS 5 issue is one of the main issues being discussed and they are encouraging feedback.

The proposed skill system actually would be quite the opposite of "dumbing down" the game.

However, relax, there is plenty of time for these issues to be hashed out. Truth be told to have a truly informed decision we'll need to wait until the more detailed Dev Blog arrives.

What you are experiencing are the droppings of the I Don't Know Diddly About Creating Games But I Know How To Make Them Perfect bird. They seem to have come of age over the past four or five years. They discover the modem is connected to the computer (at long last) and their mom's keyboard can hammer out just about anything they dream up. The internet then becomes a repository for their regurgitations.

Fear not, however. Though they may muck up all the park benches, making it impossible to sit, they aren't lethal, and will only transmit disease if you're in close, physical proximity. Unfortunately, however, they will be with us for a very long time. One can only hope their offspring don't pick up this trait of theirs, so it does't become a generational infestation.

Don't get your hopes up.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

No it isn't.

Minnie BS5, caldari BS5, maybe even amarr BS5, but unless you want capsips, gal BS5 is pretty worthless, because Gal BS are pretty worthless compared to the alternatives.

If you think that you can reason people that have this strange attitude like the ones thinking the King is still alive, dress like him and listen his music all day long like if it's the new tube everyone wants...you'll never wake them up and remember them we're in march 2012, that earth orbits around the sun and that are other places than US and UK.
