Launcher v.0.61

Applied update to existing sisi client, froze as soon as skill queue opened.
Received the following message upon crash
Unhandled page fault on read access to 0xdeadbeef at address 0xdeadbeef.
Do you wish to debug it ?

Tried a fresh start, duplicated TQ client and applied generic patch, updated client, go onto game opened skill queue and game froze again.
Terminal last message was
err:seh:EXC_RtlRaiseException possibly COM stub exception at 0xdeadbeef

No wonder it's not working if it's running of rotting organic flesh.

The crashes ingame has nothing to do with the Launcher and they're being investigated.

If you have more issues with the Launcher itself, please reply to the thread.

Hi,

Any mac users able to connect to sisi (as of 8th march before the next mass test)?

Got a list of exceptions yesterday during update as launcher failed to update client, then said client was ready but eve is just quitting when trying to open it. (full bug report submitted)

With the new launcher due out in 5 days haven't see a stable mac client since the launcher appeared.

In the thread naught for the devblog announcing the launcher one of the devs replied that Launcher will no longer work for SiSi. I assume to give them a few days to migrate everything over for TQ.

Now, the PC version would launch or patch either client or at least launch them or something like that.

The Mac version obviously was SiSi only, but now I am not even sure if it works at all...

That is why I started a separate thread asking those questions.....

CCP: The Sisi launcher, even when run with

/Applications/EVE\ Onlinesisi.app/Contents/MacOS/EVE\ Online /server:87.237.38.50

Tries to connect to TQ. What do we do? The mass test is about an hour away as I write this.

This is why I don't even try. We couldn't get on the last test and now this one too. I'm going outside instead.

Right at the last minute I succeeded in getting on Sisi for the test. It turns out the new client does not pay attention to the info.plist settings as to what folder to use in /library/application support. The sisi client always was using the /library/application support/Eve Online folder there. So it was not seeing the

[AppDefaults\\EVE.exe\\transgaming]
"cmdlineadd" = "/server:87.237.38.50"

lines I had edited in.

The solution was to rename the "Eve Online" folder to something else and rename "Eve Onlinesisi" folder to "Eve Online". Then it worked.

CCP: This is actually a bug that needs fixing. For those of us who run more than one client at a time, we need to be able to have them go to different folders in Application support. If all copies of the client use the same folder, they can interfere with each other and cause odd problems.

So for the Mac layman like me, does this mean that the new launcher thingy will also connect me to Sisi? In other words, I don't have to go through all this command stuff and all the rest?

At least this:

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=6345&find=unread

and the reality are complete two different worlds... outdated in my eyes. Before that Launcher thing was there it seems going in a good direction, now it seems we are back in 2009 where u have to change more lines by yourself then it should go automatically.

I tried everything. But in the end it seems its different on each machine so everybody have to find out how to get it work.

example:

Find the key CFBundleName and edit the string value from "EVE Online" to "EVE Singularity"
Save and close the info.plist file
Start the EVE Online Singularity client, this will generate the new prefs folder

this is just not happen, doesn't matter if u follow exactly the steps or just ignore them.

and the CFBundleName can be "Santa Claus" as it seems it is just ignored by the launcher or what ever.

But the fun thing is, if u get to work after maybe one or two hours, a new patch is coming and have to start from zero again.

Big smileEvilBig smileEvilBig smile at least its the test server. i am sure if I have to do this to play on TQ I wouldn't play eve anymore.

EDIT: I give it up. I get it to connect to sisi, now it find (as I said before) a new patch and asks me if I wanna dl it. Ok... why not it goes quick (17MB) it finishes and said "We are finished now we gonna close the client to patch" - Hey ok why not. It closes the test server client and .... ... nothing. no patch, no process. ... I give up.

Let me know if there is a working client for test server and I will be there for mass testing and stuff. Cya

I get the same problem, I tried everything, it connects to Sisi just fine, but then the 17 mb patch gets downloaded and it says: "The Patch is already downloaded, the client will restart now and the patching process begin" then the client closes and nothing happens. I tried redownloading everything, i set up the Sisi client 3 times completely from the start. Everytime the 17 mb patch hinders me from playing on Sisi.

I've got launcher 1.04. Haven't been able to log in to sisi for some weeks now. Tried today, launcher patched me from 350962 to 351370, started it up and connected to sisi. I used CCP Konflikt's command:

/Applications/EVE\ Singularity.app/Contents/MacOS/EVE\ Online /server:87.237.38.50

from terminal to start the whole thing going. Thereafter I had set the client up as per the Mac Singularity instructions on EVElopedia. May or may not be relevant.

Don't know if that helps anyone, but I am on sisi. Yay!

The numerous in game crashes and freezes are unbelievable ....... just logging in is now a hassle ....... i am not sure what this new launcher is supposed to bring to the game but so far for me it's a huge pain!

Day one was fine no problems.... then they made some patches and it has been a horror since then.

When I use the system scanner or launch probes i lose control of the UI nothing except chat works ..... even using ESC to log out does not function.... can't recall probes.... had to force quit and get back into the ten (10) to twenty (20) minute constant fail and restart of the launcher just to log back in.

Yes I am not having fun.
