Distribution mission counter. How exactly does it work?

I'm running Distribution missions in Amarr space for faction standing increases.
I'm curious about how the mission counter works to get to storyline missions.
Can I run a mix of different level distribution missions with separate missions counters for each level or do they reset when you change levels?
For example:
Let's say I've run 7 distribution missions at level 3.
Can I grab a level 2 distribution mission with out resetting the mission counter? Will that set the counter back to 1 since I changed levels?

Separate counters for each level, you're fine. 16 per level per faction, all tallies are independent.

That's what I was hoping to see! Thanks for the response.

Rules have changed !

Starting ANY new agent will reset the counter, per GM response to Petition about why no Storyline in 31 Missions:

"You completed the first mission for Fitsyoo Valou on 2011.12.05 which was also the first mission for Ammatar Fleet. You completed 15 missions for that agent before you moved on to the level 3 agents on 2011.12.28. It appears you were only one mission away from the storyline mission.

I think the GM was hinting that you should run the 16th

That was a response as to why no Storyline in 31 Missions. Roll Next...............

Did you actually go back and do the 16th mission?

You're misreading that response. Run another L2 for Ammatar. You'll get a storyline.

How do I know this? Well, lots of experience for one. Perhaps most saliently: I get storylines for all factions when I run the SoE arc, including those that I only interact with during the arc. These storylines tick up over six or nine months with plenty of agents in between.

from my experience its still the separate tallys for separate missions levels and factions, im usually running distribution missions for caldari or amarr at work and security for either or at home, and havent gone even close to 31 missions without storylines afaik.

The counter was reset when I started the next agent, and the previous agent one was run as well. That's the POINT. There is no 'going back' and 'doing' after counter reset.

Sheesh................................................have brains dissolved away or something ?????

Not dissolved. We're reading the text and it's not saying anything about a global reset.

It's saying 'you did 15 missions with that corp, then moved to a different level. So the counter for the level you were doing didn't tick up.'

Did you ever go back and run another mission with them?

Woo! CSM XI!

Confirmed this. I ran 15 Level III distribution missions and then ran a level II in an effort to intentionally derail the process. I failed. I received the storyline mission after running the next level III distribution mission.

Counters are separate for each level. So I run level I and Level II missions along with the level III missions if they are in the same system and the payload fits in the hold. Primarily for a little more ISK and standings boosts with the various NPC corps.

The fun part is planning the route with the idea of dropping off or picking up in just about every system along the way.

yes...yes they did...

yours.

Srsly Krixtal, ur a bright guy, read your own messages twice before jumping down everyone else's throat.

To be clear. Yes, do 15 L3s, go do 2 L2s, when you come back to the last L3 (assuming of course that it is from the same agent or an agent from the same faction) you will get an L3 storyline. go do another 14 L2s and you'll get an L2 storyling to boot.
