Low-sec Brawler Wolf, anyone?

So in the post-AF buff era, old wolf fits with just an added resist plate don't seem to be doing the trick. I'm just wondering if anyone has found a brawler Wolf fit that works half decently. Here is something I've been playing around with and so far it seems to be ok. It's a little vulnerable to kiting, but that's nothing new for an AB AF. I'll probably try a MWD version at some point, but haven't gotten there yet.

Anyway, the fit:

[Wolf, Low-sec Brawler]
Gyrostabilizer II
Centii A-Type Reactive Plating
400mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Centii C-Type Small Armor Repairer
Damage Control II

Coreli C-Type 1MN Afterburner
Warp Scrambler II

150mm Light AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP S
150mm Light AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP S
E5 Prototype Energy Vampire
150mm Light AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP S
150mm Light AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP S

Small Anti-Kinetic Pump I
Small Ancillary Current Router I

It's a little spendy (but not ridiculous) and a little slow due to the plate, but it seems to benefit from the buffer. Stats with all V, RF ammo, no imps:

Ehp: 11.7k
Tank: 71 or 92 w/ heat
DPS: 205 or 236 w/ heat
Speed: 918m/s or 1182m/s w/ heat

Thoughts, or suggestions for something better?

I'll just preface this by saying that I'm a failure as an AF pilot (much too aggressive for my own good) but I decided to go for something similar. Mine has a little less tank but a little higher dps output. So far I've been unable to kill anything larger than another frigate with it but there's always hope. I fully expect to be able to tip the dps on a missioning BS at some point but up until now it's been a wash.

[Wolf, omgwtf]

Adaptive Nano Plating II
Reactive Plating II
Small Armor Repairer II
Gyrostabilizer II
Gyrostabilizer II

1MN Afterburner II
Warp Scrambler II

200mm AutoCannon II, Hail S
200mm AutoCannon II, Hail S
200mm AutoCannon II, Hail S
200mm AutoCannon II, Hail S
Small Nosferatu II

Small Anti-Kinetic Pump I
Small Anti-Explosive Pump I

[edit:] BTW, every time I put an AB on it and die and wish I had a mwd and every time I put a mwd on it and die and wish I had gone for the AB. I also tried a dual prop version of the jag but fail miserably at that as well. It just all seems to go down faster than I can react unless I'm attacking small targets.

I like this fit, 13k EHP (omni) 9k pure explosive (weakest), 238 DPS, 898 M/S
Just for the lols, its pure EM EHP is 50k

The one thing that I wish CCP did differently on the AF buff was give it a third mid slot so it could control range, not a FIFTH low slot...

How much herp could a herp derp derp if a herp derp could herp derp.

If the Wolf had a third midslot everyone would just slap on a MSE and DC for the tank.

M1k3y and Tinu, I'm thinking you guys are on to something with the dual-gyro fits. Did some testing with a friend last night and the gank/tank ratio seems to be pretty nice, though I might prefer the one with the rep over the plate.

It's not? Are you referring to the optimal bonus or are you thinking it's just better at kiting than it will be at brawling? Given the lack of mids and abundance of lows, I definitely agree that it is a good kiting ship.

For a brawling fit, I'd much rather fit extra tank or gank than nano.

W/o an added mid slot it doesn't have range dictation inside of scram range so your better off kiting around with the wolf's pretty awesome range.

Yeah, I know what you mean Travasty, but I think it's awesome range is what makes it viable inside scram range without a web. 200s and good skill gives you 9.8km range with RF ammo.

Wolf is sadly outclassed as a brawler by Harpy and Enyo which can do 250-300+ DPS.
Even worse, they can fit scram and web giving range control over the 2 mid Wolf.
Can't seem to find a role for the Wolf another ship cannot do better.
Unless...

This thing trashes frig cap. (Overheat and stagger the neuts of course!)
Active tanks and blasters will shut down in seconds.
Purely anti-frig, useless vs bigger ships which have capacitors too large to be affected much.

I like the MWD for the wolf post AF changes. Just try to avoid engaging ships likely to have scrams. (most big ships fit disruptors so they are good).

If you focus on larger ships without scrams you can escape pretty easy when things go bad. Plus a webbed MWD wolf is still pretty fast.

The wolf is still really good and it isnt too hard to have fits that can react to alot of situations. One tracking enhancer will get you 17.5km falloff with just Barage and 12km falloff with Faction.

With heat I get:
13.6k ehp
170dps with barrage (0.5 tracking) 1.6 +16
213dps with RF (0.6 tracking) 0.8 +11
238dps with hail (0.4 tracking) 0.8+8

Granted, you don't have the speed to keep the guy close enough to kill him if he tries to get out (I call this the ultimate "beat off" ship), but I have killed a multitude of ships with that wolf, including both active and a passive tanked Enyos.

What I find great about the wolf now is its ability to both nano fit or brawl fit or fit for both short and long range at the same time. Its lack of web does mean that anything with a web can quite easily run away, but toe to toe, I reckon the wolf does a good job.
