Hey CCP do something about market bots

Hey,

I know you are doing something about bots. But are you targeting market bots as well? I really don't mind market PvP, competition is good for consumers and all, but it is difficult to compete against a machine logged 23/7, undercutting by 1 ISK every 4 minutes with high volume of items. You can't outwait it, can't undercut it, all you can do is move away from best markets and settle for minor business in a less populated system. That isn't right.

Sincerely

People in outlying systems need junk to.

If I'm missioning in .5, I'd pay more for missiles 1-2 jumps away than travel a dozen to get to a trade hub.

I don't always use hax. But when I do, it's because I'm an NPC.. http://i.imgur.com/PUZou.jpg

Send a petition and see what the GM says about it. Those market bots are players that can respond here and will just say cry more noob.

I sometimes sell in those systems as well, but the sales are kind of slow. Even with higher pricess I make less money than in high turnover systems.

True enough. I just like it when the vendors come to me. Cool

Market bots is even harder to find then mining/ratting bots. I think it'll be down to CCP looking at who exactly is online and for howw long...

The annoying thing about trade bots is them increasing their orders by 0.01 ISK over/under the best order every 5 minutes.

No human player will have the nerv to do that longer than an hour every day, so there really is no human competition for that sort of market botting.

CCP should just raise a transaction fee for altering an existing order. With Lvl 5 skill sth at 0.1% of the total order value (not just 100 ISK for altering any order). That way you would do some math before trying to undercut your competitors by 0.01 ISK. Thats so silly...

I've seen this happen. You can notice the difference between normal 0.01 isk wars when sometimes your order stays ahead for a few hours because the other guy competing with you isn't on and these seller bots that at whatever time you change your price almost instantly put theirs in 0.01 lower. Impossible to tell who is doing it unless you buy from them and I will not do that ...
This is my signature. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.  Without me, my signature is useless. Without my signature, I am useless

Now that would be an interesting addition to trading. Big smile

I actually like this idea. Or put a restriction on changing price to order once per day/N'hours.

Yes, it is marginally possible that there is some no-life there, checking his sell order every 5 minutes day and night. Hard to believe, though.

I think it should be quite easy.
1. If their market queries and order changes are in equal intervals - probably a bot.
2. If they react to competitor's price changes in eqal intervals all day long - probably a bot.

I do wonder sometimes if CCP actually play on Tranquility once in awhile instead of on their own private clients.
