What do I need to get into Incursions?

Lemme just say first of all that incursions make me sick. I think in their current state they are awful for the game on a multitude of levels. That being said, I need ISK, and Incursions represent the best way to get that atm for me, so what exactly does one need to get into an Incursion fleet? WIll a T1 BS suffice, or do I need something shinier?

You can get into incursion fleets with a T1 BS. (I was accepted with a Rohk with meta 4 guns) That being said it will be much harder to get fleets without a shiny faction fitted ship. Best bet if you are looking to keep costs down is to get into a logi.

There are a lot of guides out that will help you to make correct fitting choices to survive in incursions. That being said if you dont already have a bil+ to fit up your faction legion/prot/loki then yes your going to need much shinny bs. Most T1 could survive with correct T2 fits but you will not be competitive in getting a fleet nor getting a payout.

Go for max skill T3 is likely your best bet. The fits are more or less cookie cutters and you wont have as much diversity in the decision making process.

If you can't get in a T2 / some faction fit:

- Mach
- Nightmare
- Legion
- Vindicator
- Other misc pirate BSes
Or
- L5 Basilisk
- L5 Guardian

Then you won't get into a fleet running the numbers you have seen posted. You'll be waiting ages, lose most competed sites, and get about 50mil an hour.

Train Logi V, Train Minny Cruiser V and Caldari Cruiser V, Train Cap Cert to standard.

Spend half as much isk on two ships as most ships hulls cost in incursions.

PROFIT????

Edit; Oh and if you have an alt, train him for a boosting tengu/loki, a logi V pilot with OG booster will get you a fleet fast.

Simple answer : luck and a lot (several hours) of time to spend waiting around first for an invite and second for the fleet to actually do anything ... assuming its a genuine fleet in the first place and not a bunch of gankers out to kill your shiney ship.

If you want in with a T1 hull, I'd suggest running with assault and HQ fleets. There's nearly always at least one going. It doesn't have as much potential pay as much as vanguards unless you're blitzing NRFs, but it's much more consistent due to the lack of contests. These bigger fleets rely a lot less on pure dps output and a lot more on the pilots knowing how to fit their ships well and follow orders. The only caveat is that the isk/hr is largely defined by the type of site being run

In HQs, for example, a good fleet will make about 45m/hr running TPPH (the slow site, nobody likes them), 80m/hr running TCRC (among the hardest pve experiences in eve), and can actually top 120m/hr running NRF (you want these, obviously)

As for a ship, a T1 battleship will be fine, but it'll have to be shields...armor doesn't run them often enough or fast enough for it to be the main attraction. I'd pick

Gallente- Railgun Hyperion (megathron is a tad squishy, domi doesn't work well because you can't use sentries

Minmatar- Maelstrom or Tempest, AC or artillery fit (maelstrom is the better of the two...phoon is squishy and has low dps

Caldari- cruise raven or railgun rokh (scorpion also works as a jammer, but it's a very tough job and you only need one per fleet

Amarr- Abaddon or Apocalypse, pulse or beam (amarr T1 ships are somewhat inefficient at shield tanking...I'd avoid them if you can fly another race just as well

As for fitting them, it's really quite easy. Start with

tank
2x T2 invulnerability fiel
1x T2 EM hardene
1x T2 damage control uni
2x large core defence field extende
1x large anti-thermal screen reinforce

gank-
full rack of your primary weapo
3x damage mo
3x range mod (TC or TE

Site-specific
Afterburner (any kind) on TPPH (LONG distance between gates, slowboating it slows the site waay down
Large Shield Extender II on TCRC (massive alpha damage, you could get popped without one
neither is particularly needed for NRFs, so keep whatever fit you already have when running those. I will say though that Megathrons, Abaddons, and Apocs are particularly squishy without the LSE

other
Sensor booster or signal amplifier if you're sniper fit and are short on lock rang
Target painter if you're a missile ship with spare mid
LArge Energy Transfer if you have a spare high slot

edit: What the hell? It's somehow cut off the last character from every line...? o.0

Ick!!! Someone with no principles at all willing to do things they claim are distasteful to them, just for isk.

I don't want you in any incursion fleet that I happen to be a part of.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Are you being serious, Really?

For instance, A Vargur does 1.1k dps - Mach does 1.3k, Wake up :) ( All t2 Fits )

You obviously aren't putting enough officer mods on your marauders.
