For the last few days I have been poring over the posts regarding the CSM elections and the candidates running. Several comments and suggestions follow.

CSM6 was grossly misrepresentative of the majority of players. The solution is simple. The 7 chairs on the CSM should be distributed to players based on population densities. This means Highsec residents get 4 chairs (4 highest votes from Highsec candidates) based on 67%; while Nullsec will get 2 chairs (2 highest votes from Nullsec candidates) based on 20% and the remaining chair will go to a Lowsec or WH resident. This does two things, prevents Nullsec barons from controlling the CSM and will insure indirectly that there will be security status representation too. Alts are prohibited from voting. The chairman is selected by the CSM’s as their first order of business. No player can be chairman more than once unless all elected CSM’s are former chairmen.

The Mittani, Chairman of CSM6, is a wanted criminal with a -7.7 sec status, a 17mil bounty, and advocates and promotes the destruction of innocent players as well as scams of various sorts. These actions in and of themselves are part of Eve. Yet there was a movement to get CCP to ‘fire’ The Mittani for his game play while he was serving as a CSM. At issue is the flag placed on serving CSM’s player portraits that infer a high level of trust and confidence particularly to the unsuspecting. The solution is simple, remove the flags from CSM portraits.

IMHO this kind of behaviour should bar you from standing for a position within a democratic body.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. When I die, all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

If the candidates and CSMs were competent people able to actually think beyond their own experiences I couldn't give a **** if it were 7 guys who had only ever lived in WHs. Go by population densities if you want, as long as these guys aren't wanting to "Funnel the ideas of everyone" into CCP or only caring about their constituents, I could not care one bit.

Looking over the crucible expansion features I see 3 possible changes out of 21 that would remotely be "Null-sec baronish". But even these don't apply directly to, or only affect people in, null-sec. These changes would be:

  • Capital ship tweaks.
  • New shield modules.
  • Tech 2 Module Tweaking.

    • So your indirect argument that the current CSM Barons are only caring about their own side of the game is really quite false. Plus I hate the idea of these CSM guys pushing only their side of the game as they wouldn't. Why would they want people to leave the game by making only their side fun? It's a dumb concept that people seem to grasp on to.

    What I got from this thread: a bloo bloo bloo negative sec status, which is something I don't think I've ever seen in an anti-CSM whine before. That novelty is worth something!
