Not quite. This was no different from finding your real life mailbox stuffed with adverts for useless junk you couldn't care less about.

I wasn't a fan of Trebor before and after this, definitely not a fan of his. Reeks of desperation.

I worked for 6months in marketing, I know the law. Trebor is in the US, to which the CAN-SPAM act of 2003 defines it's scope as "electronic mail" later in the act it simply calls it "email"

I didn't see where Trebor was offering you a commercial service or otherwise promoting a commercial product.

It also deliberately states that the content is exempt from falling under the CAN-SPAM act if it contains political messages.

You seem to think spam laws stop you from receiving any message you didn't want to receive, this is not the case. Spam laws (regardless of country) do no such thing; they all define what a "commercial electronic mail" is (i.e. define the scope of the object the legislation covers) and then gives you a specific list of what you can and cannot do with them.

Since I cannot find any bill that refers to messages sent by evemail, none are applicable.

Nothing new.

Ankhesentapemkah made HEAVY use of mass evemail'ing during that particular election. And she won with the second highest vote count, so I guess it worked.

Though, what happened AFTER she was elected was another situation entirely.

You are correct, this is no different than finding junk mail in a RL mailbox, or watching your junk mail folder fill up in your outlook. Because of this I treated this evemail no differently. I glanced at it and moved on. It didn't make me cry like a little girl. I didn't feel the urge to throw a tantrum due to some inanimate objects mere presence. I didn't even really bother reading it. I just continued with my life.

This has left me at a crossroad however. Do I vote for Darius for scamming stupid people into giving him free publicity, or do I vote for Trebor for inadvertently pissing off the thin skinned sensitives?

TBH if I hadnt already voted adn didnt know who to vote for, getting that mail from Trebor would have made me absolutely not vote for him..
