There is a player driven election that begins in a few hours for representation on the "Counsel of Stellar Management" (CSM).

I would like to extend an invitation for new players to familiarize themselves with an aspect of gaming that I don't believe they are accustomed to....having a voice in the development process.

You mean there's still people that have the illusion that people can be motivated to vote in the Match Between The Biggest Bullies? Shocked

There's a reason the Goons ( and others, goons are simply more successful at it..) have a big recruitment drive/pewpew-action-for-dummies campaign going around this time of the year.. Roll

Highsec isn't "Safe".  Neither is it a playground for bullies and bottomfeeders. So stop complaining and start playing the game already.

I think new players don't need to concern themselves with this boring election stuff. Have fun. Fly spaceships.

Of course we should concern ourselves and vote. It's our future as well as yours.

We may be new in the game, but we are a part of it too.

We at CCP encourage indeed our community to participate in the development of EVE, may it be in form of the elected Council of Stellar Management, may it be in direct feedback to questions asked in devblogs (the recent ship balancing devblog being the latest example), face to face discussions at Fanfest and/or other player gatherings or "simply" by suggesting little ideas or big features.

You, the players, make the difference!

Inform yourself, get involved, make a (more or less lasting) impact. After all, that is what EVE is also about, giving people the tools to shape their own universe.

Just beware the CSM demagogues. They are out there and they are preying on your relative newbishness.

Only one small problem (depending on your definition of new, that is)

Anyone less than 30 days old, cannot vote.

Still, it's worth educating yourself on the process Smile

Certainly is educational, I wonder many new players have an idea of what CSM is, what the various candidates have achieved or simply who the hell they are. Also, being new players, I'm not sure many can figure how their programs can have much of an influence on their daily Eve.

Nice try. Lol

Anyway, already voted and found a nice CSM scam in my eve-mail this morning, I hope nobody lost their accounts on that one.

Be informed and get involved, just remember this is Eve; where metagaming, scheming and mind games are allowed, encouraged and have great power.

So make sure you check your facts, don't take anyone's word at face value and make your own decision. Holds true for all aspects of Eve but especially true of the people standing for the CSM slots during and leading up to the voting period.

Curiosity killed the Kata... ... but being immortal he wasn't too worried about keeping a count.
