R&D Agent Question

Sorry if this isn't the right forum but lets say I have access to level 4 R&D agents but only have the skill to level 3(Mechanical Engineering for instance). If I start to do research for the agent while the skill is 3 and I'm training the skill to 4, once I reach 4 does my increase in rp/day increase automatically or do I need to stop researching and restart the research?

I have the vaguest of recollections that Negotiation is the only skill that requires a quick prod of the agent to reflect increased skill, a simple convo should suffice. I'm reasonably sure the core research skill auto updates - should be apparent in the journal research tab under RP/Day (might need to give it a downtime to hook).

IMO, your rp/day will automatically update once you finish the skill training. It won't take a downtime or agent visit.

hmm, that may be a glitch m8. last time I tried to do research with a lvl 4 agent that required mechanical engineering at level 4, he wouldn't even give me the time of day because I wasn't skilled enough for him to use me, so I had to continue using the level 3 agent until I finished level 4.
Yes, you will get more rps/day for example if you exceed that agents required skill level.
I gained a decent amount when I had a couple level 3 agents and I leveled those skills to level 5.

I recently trained Negotiation from IV to V and have seen no change in my RP/day. Maybe after downtime?

All you have to do is open the conversation window with the agent, and your RP/day number will update in your journal.

Until you talk to the agent, they won't notice that your skills have increased.

(Definitely tested when I went from Negotiation IV to V, but haven't tested with the datacore skills.)
