POS lab fees

Hello

My corp runs a research POS for invention and ME / PE research which we have recently newly set up after the change to fuel blocks. However, I found myself unable to set fees for the lab slots as it used to be possible for years up until now. First I thought it was a bug and filed a report and a petition but the responding GM told me that this fee feature actually has been removed by CCP and the ability to set them in the UI is just a leftover.
I would please like to know why you would remove such a feature, because this step makes absolutely no sense in my eyes. Players were never forced to actually use it so all you have done is taking it away from the people who did use it without any reasonable explanation why. My corp was using this to help cover the cost for the POS and I find it a major hassle that we can not do this any more. The previous system regarding fees was fine, maybe a bit complicated because you could not set them globally for the entire POS but still, the people who wanted to use it could do so and the people who didn't weren't forced to.
I would like to ask that you please restore this feature.

thank you

o_O gonna have to check on that myself now =/

CCP, stop breaking things (unless you're planning on giving us new POS in summer '12)

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Hmmm. I agree with Khelben if what he says has happened is correct. Some taxes such as the new increased PI taxes should never have been introduced. But I see nothing wrong with taxes charged by/going to Corporations.

I did it last month, but it took me 2h to find "how".
You need one role (and no, I don't remember which one), get to "one" (lol good luck) of the 34773 R&D panels, and you will see (only if you have the role ofc) a button (left-bottom corner) called "managed the ???". Yes I don't even remember the end of the line. I think it was "manage the assembly lines". Yes, even for a lab.
You click on it and tadaaaaaaam, you can set up a price for every slot of your labs/arrays (including standings and everything).

PS : this GM is bad and should feel bad.

Yes, this is the way it worked in the past, you select the slot in the installations tab of the science & industry window and then click on the "manage assembly lines" button in the bottom right corner and set your fees. The button is still there and you can set whatever you want, but the game completely ignores whatever you put in, nothing is being charged as fee any more no matter what you do. Like I said, the GM said this is only a leftover and the feature has been removed :(

I know for sure that existing arrays/labs are still charging fees, but I have not tested out changing those fees yet since the last patch. I anchored a new lab a week or two ago.

(The GM you spoke with, probably does not understand the question - or perhaps I don't.)

I find it hard to believe that CCP nerfed this without so much a peep to the rest of the community about it. There must be a miscommunication somewhere...

I'm not sure where a miscommunication could have happened. The GM was pretty clear about it. It does seem very strange though, that Bob is still able to charge fees, this shouldn't be possible if the feature had been removed.

Could a dev please say something about this ... ?

Why's this? The taxes were completely wrong based on the prices things were selling for on the markets....

... if you don't like CONCORD's 10% tax, go blow up some Interbus (or player) Customs Offices somewhere and set up your own tax-free offices...

Our POS labs are still charging the correct fees.

So, I went out to the tower today and switched the rate on a lab.

Install cost: 12000
Cost per hour: 12000

Good standing discount %: 0
Bad standing discount %: 0
- AFAIK, those two boxes have never worked

Min Standing: -10 (default)
Max Standing: +10 (default)
Min Corp Sec: -10 (default)
Max Corp Sec: +10 (default)

Restriction Masks (allow alliance / corp / by standing / by security):
- All left unchecked

And it's still charging the correct fees.

Alright, so I went and and played around with the settings once again. It seemed like the tick at "allow corporation member usage" in the restriction masks was the key, after I removed that it charged the fees as intended. I thought I had to set this to have the members be able to use the slots at all.

Sorry for posting here over nothing and thanks a ******* lot to that GM who blatantly lied to me.

There is of course a big difference between being malinformed and blatantly lying...

One has to assume the GM wasn't up to speed with how the lab fee is handled. What benefit would there be in purposely twisting the truth here.
