West Coast United States Meetup! Santa Barbara Is Primary!

Sooo, I have been talking to CCP about the possibility of organizing a meetup for California... After talking, we decided to open it up to the entire West Coast. We figure the more, the drunker...er..merrier.

We are shooting for June, as it will be well after fanfest, and into the summer months.

We have picked Santa Barbara for the meetup for several reasons:

1) Somewhat centrally located. Technically, the "center" would be several hundred miles higher, but then we'd have much colder ---

2) Beaches. For them that don't have one closeby, here you are. It's full of sand and water. Enjoy!

3) Climate. Santa Barbara has one of the best climates in the world (it's referred to as the "American Riviera") in June, it should be perfect, daytime and night.

4) Alcohol. On Friday and Saturday nights, the central street opens up and the clubs are all walking/crawling distance from each other.

Assuming we are doing this in June, what we need right now is a headcount.

Is this going to be a 2 day week end event, sorta like a mini Fanfest?

That is certainly the plan, but it could be much looser if people want to hang out in santa barbara for a bit. It is an extremely popular destination for vacationers.

great idea! im in the bay area though (oakland) and i would vote for having it up here obviously lol.
theres always tons of stuff to do in the area (sf nightclubs, etc) either way is fine but its a great idea to have a west coast meet up!

you have to ask ccp for permission for players to meet?? or did you ask them to see if they would be attending as well?

CCPs only involvement was whether or not they could help with promotion of said event.

And I need a headcount for those interested before we decide what we are going to do.

We have lots of stuff to choose from, but if only 4 people show interest, I'll meet them at Dargan's can call it an event. If we get 300 people coming in, we need to do something different.

Soooo, first step is to find out how many people would be willing to come to Santa Barbara.

I'd be interested, just need a couple weeks notice so I can arrange for vacation as I work weekends.

Depends on the amount of people...probably Dargan's in Santa Barbara.
