HELP! All my EFT data is gone

I just shut down my laptop and went for basketball. When I came back and opened the computer, there is nearly no fittings there in EFT 2.13.4, there were over 100 fittings, and even my characters are not there. What happened, anyone has experience about that?

One way or another you removed files from eft, exactly how would be impossible to tell without way more details.

Make sure you're running the roght client and not a seperate copy
Search for any of the missing files, it'll let you find the right eft clone and where you moved your stuff if you moved it
... Or just recover from your backup, surely you keep everything you care about backed up?

I've seen this a couple of times on a virtual machine with XP
and on my gaming rig with Win7 ultimate

At one point i found out somehow/something made the directory with the fittings read-only.
So while i could use EFT without problems (it seems to store them in RAM), after a restart of the program it resets to the previous state.
Manually fixed the directory settings and tried with a few restarts.
Just to see it happen again earlier this week.

I suspect a bug in the update routine.
But perhaps i'm just sleepwalking and setting the folder to read-only during full-moon. Oops
