So why wouldn't your clone wake up if you die in a station? How is it different to dying in space?
Surely someone could tell the people keeping your clone, that you have infact died, and it'd be nice to have that clone activated?

I don't mean to railroad the thread. Just a little question.
As you were (waiting for Zulu?).

Because in the Lore, the purpose of the pod to begin with is partly control mechanism and partly clone scanner. The pod, when it starts to detect a breach, fries your brain getting a fast scan to transmit to the cloning network. It's so deeply ground into the Lore that pod pilots often live their whole lives without unplugging because of the unpleasant nature of decanting and the vulnerability of being on wiggly little legs.

Walking in Stations goes against the very core of what EVE is. It has no place in the game. And the pod jacuzzi in the CQ especially has no room in the game (it's an insult to everyone who's ever played or worked on developing the game.)

Supposedly, they were going to explain away the Lore with something about using the same tech the Dusters use, except CCP cba'd. They've stopped caring about what makes EVE, EVE.

Well, except that most of the story of how DUSTER cloning tech works has been roughed in via the Chronicles. So you are right in that a tie in to EVE pilots hasn't been fleshed out, but the framework for it is already in place.

On another note:

Since perma death outside the pod can be eliminated within the confines of game lore now if they choose, I'd pay good money to see the inclusion of an "assassinate" action/emote... which could only be used if within the same room as a target whom you have accepted a "bounty contract" on. Of course you'd have to have the skills trained up that would be required to obtain a Concord sanctioned bounty hunters license, have an appropriate (probably DUST inspired) weapon on you, and a revamped bounty system that actually works.

Of course the flip side to that would be the "run like hell" action/emote, which you would have about a hot second to activate once you saw the bounty hunter go for his gun.

And whats wrong with Moral Kombat? If any type of conflict were to happen on an NPC monitored station, it would probably boil down to hand to hand... what with Concord restrictions on carrying concealed weapons on a station and all. Big smile

We are watching this space, Zulu. In fact, we were told to watch this space early this week for a devlog that would answer all our concerns.

It's now past midnight Wednesday in Iceland. CCP is late as usual. You're really not helping regain player confidence here.

What a bullshit!
I bet for each 1 player who want Incarna (hey why don't them go play sims or something in the first place) there's dozen of those who don't care a rat's ass about it and 3 or 4 who hate being forced to play "dress up barbie" in their brutal spaceship game.

Stakeout time!

Anyone got a house across from CCP Zulu's office window, a pair of nightvision goggles with telescoping lens, and a couple of squad cars they can loan?

Actually I do! My friends call me paranoid and crazy, but they don't know what they are talking about!

Sadly though I live on mainland Europe :(

Edit also: Zulu, We are watching...

Edit nr 2: 10/10 on the trolling for the OP even caught Zulu in the nets, excellent form and flawless execution!

So if you start playing Left 4 Dead because you like garden gnomes, it is your opinion that the real problem with this pairing isn't so much that you picked the wrong game, but that Valve focused too much on zombies, rather than gnomes…?

except that valve havent said they will put gnomes into l4d. ccp have said they WiS will be a part of eve, and some people liked the sound of that so they started playing, now one of those peopleis asking ccp to actually follow up on thier promise of WiS. if ccp said they will will put space penguins into wormholes next year, i would move into my nearest wormhole and wiat for my space penguins, then if they dint show up id come to the forums and call ccp out on it, much like people are callign ccp out on various thigns they have said and not followed up with results

Get establishments/the missing CQ's out the door, yes. Then let it settle in for an expansion cycle aside from modest tweaks/fixes.

But the traditional space-bound aspects of this game are crying out for iteration right now. Null sec needs a damn good shake up, capitals need a general rebalance (not decided if carriers should be touched or not) and factional warfare is about 3 years overdue for iteration.

We need an EVE where small gangs have something to do, where a single power block does not dominate over half of all null sec, where super capitals do not camp a low sec gate for ganks and capital hot drops are not the biggest threat to ratters.

I would also like to see Electronic Attack Ships outside of alliance tournaments. I don't remember the last time I saw one being flown.

missions are the only thing i can think of right now that DONT need any work done on them, and even then theres probably some tweaks that can be made to them, and devs and players alike have expressed a desire to move mission rat ai to use sleeper ai. given an infinite amount to resources ccp would probably work on all of them, but they are limited in what they can do for any given cycle and so different things get worked on ahead of others for various reasons, im not goign to pretend ot understand what those reasons are because i just dont know.

Did Valve make a big deal of garden gnomes through the trade press and fan conventions? No they didn't. CCP have made a big thing of "EVE Online is a sci-fi simulator. Here is walking-in-stations" through trade press and presentations at several FanFests. To call your analogy flawed would imply that there was some validity to it in the first place.

While I didn't join EVE specifically for WiS, I have been looking forward to it for some time. EVE is not an internet spaceships game. It's a game of politics, subterfuge, capitalism, empire building and trust. There happens to be a lot of blowing up of spaceships happening to support the actual gameplay right now because that's the main technical feature of the game.

The bottom line is this game is already 99% all about FiS (Flying in Space). The winter expansion needs to focus a majority of its development time on WiS (Walking in Stations). It's what the players want, its what CCP want and its what I want.

No it doesn't since it is possible. I have hated the whole pod thing lore from day one. Youre right about the annoying visible pod in CQ though.
