Try re installing directx and see what happens. And possibly graphics drivers for good measure if you have not done so already.

Some wonky stuff happens when you upgrade your OS, always try to do a fresh install to avoid issues. But anyway.

Did you manually delete the cache and settings folders under %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\ and then re install eve?

Also try running eve as admin.

This person had some similar issues as you in this forum thread https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=76190 I would read through that as well.

The relevant error is "493 2012.03.05 20:49:36:613 ERROR_PATH_NOT_FOUND: [Error 3] Le chemin d’accès spécifié est introuvable: 'SHGetFolderPath'" and this is the code that fails:

mydocs = win32.SHGetFolderPath(win32.CSIDL_PERSONAL)

The EVE client is trying to locate your Documents folder (normally on Windows 7 in C:\Users\(windows_user_name)\Documents) to build up / access the EVE\capture and EVE\logs hierarchy. It's failing to find this folder.

Unfortunately then a bug report is unlikely to help since there is nothing wrong with the code, we are simply getting an error back from Windows because a folder we expect to find doesn't exist. I would recommend sending in a technical petition to get help from a GM to try and figure out what's wrong with your system.

This sounds a bit like you somehow screwed up access rights on your documents folder.

I'd try the following:

Go to "C:\Users\[windows login]\". There should be a sub folder called "Documents" (it might have some localized name; don't know what it is for French though; for English it should read "My Documents"). Right click it, open the security tab, select your own account name and ensure you've got full access rights (i.e. all available options are ticked). If they aren't there, add/update them. Then open the folder and ensure you've got full rights for the "EVE" sub folder (or just rename or delete it, so it's recreated - existing screenshots and logs will get lost if you delete it!).
