Download the Eve Offline installer http://community.eveonline.com/download/?fallback=1

Download PlayOnLinux from the Ubuntu Software Center

Use PlayOnLinux to Install eve, and enjoy.

The only issue i have found is the game crashes with station environment loaded, and the in game browser doesnt work. other than that everything seems to work even have sound, game seems to run smoother than it does on my Windows 7 partition.

I think the CQ crashing Eve has to do with the studio software CCP is using. The only reason I have for CQ is showing friends how you start out,

Other than that I'm old school enough for ship spinning. ;)

HI,

I have successfully installed eve through playonlinux.

However performance issues led me to try the wine installation. Python27.dll error.

Any advice on how to boost performance?

Since playonline actually uses wine, do my font updates and directx downloads through the terminal using winetricks actually help?

Has anyone found another way around the python27 error?

Thank you for your original post! at least I can chat with my people Big smile

I went to Python.org and grabbed the Windows version of python 2.7.

That worked quite nicely, too.
